Höglund started playing bass guitar at the age of 14. He first played in a local band called Tryckvåg. In 1990, he joined the band Great King Rat, which released two albums before disbanding in 1992. |

In 1993, Höglund joined Thunder, replacing original bassist Mark Luckhurst. He played on the band's 1995 album "Behind Closed Doors", which was a commercial success. He also appeared on the band's live albums "Live Circuit", "Their Finest Hour...and a bit" and ”Live at the BBC”. |

Höglund left Thunder in 1996 to pursue other projects. He has since played with a variety of bands, including Airstream, Jekyll & Hyde, Alfonzetti, Audiovision, and Beautiful Grey. |
