Mario Ariel Bolatti (born 17 February 1985 in La Para, Córdoba Province) is an Argentine footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Brazilian Serie A club Internacional[2] and the Argentine national team.[3]
Club career
He began his career in 2003 at Club Atlético Belgrano.
In 2006 he won promotion to the Primera Division Argentina with Belgrano de Córdoba, but the club were relegated after only one season in the top flight and Bolatti was transferred to Portugal's FC Porto in July 2007, signed a 4-year contract.[4] Porto holds 60% economic rights for future transfer fees the club received and a unnamed parties holds the remain 40%.
He moved on a six month loan to Huracán for the Clausura 2009 upon recommendation from Porto teammate Lucho Gonzalez.[citation needed] He was selected as the best player in Clausura 2009 by Argentine sports daily Olé and was a key player in Huracán's championship bid, which was thwarted by Vélez Sarsfield in the last day.
In July 2009, Porto sold all the economic rights (later changed to 40%) to Natland Financieringsmaatschappij B.V. in order to acquire Radamel Falcao's remain registration rights from the Dutch company.[5] The transaction Porto announced that worth €1.5 million (should be €1M if 40%), made him worth €2.5 million in total. Porto later retained 20% economic rights, which worth €232,360 (as a financial asset instead of intangible asset, latter "weathered" by time), the portion of the residual (un-amortized) value of the acquire cost that Porto paid in 2007. Porto retained the economic rights and the non-dividable registration rights to make Porto the entity to receive transfer fee for Natland and arrange loan deal for the company. Bolatti had also played for Huracán until Apertura 2009.
On 18 January 2010 he was transferred to Italian Serie A club Fiorentina[6][7] for €3.5 million.[8] Porto received €500,000 for its 20% portion, but using previous "market" value of €2.5 million as calculation .[9]
On 6 February 2011, Bolatti joined Brazilian Série A club Internacional for €4.5 million.[8][2]
International career
On 14 October 2009 in Montevideo, Uruguay, after coming on as a substitute, Bolatti scored the crucial goal in the 84th minute of the game which ensured Argentina's qualification to the 2010 FIFA World Cup. He was called up by Maradona for the 2010 FIFA World Cup as part of the 23 man squad.
