MV Mavi Marmara is a Turkish passenger ship that was involved in the May 31, 2010 Gaza flotilla clash, when Israeli naval commandos boarded the ship, enforcing the blockade of the Gaza Strip. During the assault the passengers tried to repel the boarding party, which led to the loss of at least 9 life’s and a number of wounded activists and commandos.[1]Mavi Marmara was bound to deliver humanitarian aid to the Palestinians for the controversial Free Gaza Movement. Its name means Blue Marmara.
