This is a list of diplomatic missions of Palestine. On 15 November 1988, the Palestinian National Council of the Palestine Liberation Organization, sitting in Algiers, adopted the Palestinian Declaration of Independence, unilaterally proclaiming the State of Palestine within the former British Mandate of Palestine, while not explicitly declaring its boundaries or claimed territory. At the time, the State of Palestine was not a de facto or de jure entity. The State of Palestine retains an unclear international status, with some states recognizing it de jure while it has no clear de facto status. Owing to its contested international position, many world capitals host both an Embassy of Palestine and an Embassy of Israel.
List of diplomatic missions
One-hundred and seven states recognize the State of Palestine, and 25 more grant some form of diplomatic status to a Palestinian delegation, falling short of full diplomatic recognition.[1] Most major European countries, the United States and Canada do not recognize the State of Palestine, but have varying levels of official relations with the PLO. In countries that have recognized the State of Palestine, an Embassy of the State of Palestine is often maintained there. In countries that have not, a Mission or General Delegation is maintained and in most cases enjoys diplomatic status.
The following list is ordered alphabetically and includes all states that maintain diplomatic relations with Palestinian representatives.
