|||
In writing" It gives us the earth "<br /> |

The night was left alone, "Rulfo (just like Giono and Celine Faulkner)has invented a language of his own, brought forth from a knowledge of war and racism. The language of Rulfo brings with it its past history of his childhood. As his friend early, Efrén Hernandez, Juan Rulfo is a "escritor nato", a writer born. His oral is not a transcript, it is an art, which incubate the real and reinvented. This ownership gives his writing force of truth. This book entitled "Le Llano en flammes" burns in everybody's memory, because in there has been an indelible mark left to the reader every single one of the stories and that says more about this irreducible absurdity of human history, and aroused the fervor of emotion, our only hope redemption| free English translation of the Original French text by J. {{Quotation|“El Llano en Llamas” (“The burning plain”) is a collection of tales about life, poverty, treason and death. Rulfo captured with precision the harsh and raw rural life of the people of his hometown state, Jalisco (center-Pacific of México), during the Mexican Revolution and the Cristero Rebellion (beginning of the 20th century). The language is apparently simple, as it depicts the way of talking of the subjects, but the writing is deep and rich.<br />I have read some excerpts in English and the translations are good but, as it always happens, the richness of the language gets lost in translation. I would recommend that, if your second language is Spanish, first read the book in your native language and then give it another go in the original version. The book is not long and this would be rather easy to do in a short period of time. |.librarything<ref>{{cite web |url= http://www.librarything.com/work/350059|title=El Llano En Llamas |accessdate=14 December 2008 |work=RebecaDarklight |publisher=librarything |date=2007-06-08 }}</ref>}} |
