Ken Hutchison (born 24 November 1943, Leslie, Fife) is a Scottish actor.[1]
Career
He may be best known for his role in the controversial Sam Peckinpah film Straw Dogs where he was the most shady in the group of nefarious local thugs antagonizing Dustin Hoffman's character and especially ingenue Susan George.[2] In 1980, he appeared as Brickett in "National Pelmet", the series 2 opener of TV drama Minder.[3] He appeared as the lead villain's henchmen in the eighties fantasy film Ladyhawke directed by Richard Donner.[4] He also starred in the Play for Today Just a Boys' Game.[5] Hutchison costarred with Robert Mitchum in The Wrath of God (1972), where The New York Times noted the performance of "the fine Ken Hutchison".[6] He also appeared in the motion picture Sweeney 2 from the popular British TV show, as well as the miniseries Masada and the Oscar Winning motion picture Gandhi. The Wrath of God was one of his few good guy roles and, while listed sixth in the credits, the movie mostly evolves through his character's perspective and penchant for misadventure wherein Robert Mitchum becomes his older, more experienced and resilient mentor.
