Plot summary
The episode starts out in the conference room, where an older executive Marty is presenting a plan for a for a hipper, younger, low-cost air carrier. He is planning to call this new airline “Jack Air.” He is flipping through a chart with slogans such as “Jack It to Paradise” and “Jack It Alone”. Sam is laughing at the slogans and Russ notices. Once Russ figures out what is so funny he fires the executive and places Sam in charge of planning the new airline. Sam has three days to put a whole new plan together.
We then see Sam bat at home where he meets a one of Lizzy’s friends named Jenna. Jenna is a liquor promoter and she invites the gang to the bar. Sam agrees to go out and have one drink. In the next scene we see Sam leaning back over the bar while Jenna pours tequila into his mouth.
In the bar Jenna tells Sam that she works for a liquor company and gets paid to go around to bars and promote drinking. Lizzy can’t believe that not long ago she and Jenna were learning how to cut limes together and now she’s so successful. Piper reminds Lizzy that Jenna’s job is going around handing out free tequila to drunken people. Lizzy thinks it’s time for her to make a change and realizes that they are looking for a new manager at the bar and she wants to try that.
Meanwhile, Jenna convinces Sam to join in her company’s tequila challenge against her. First challenge is who can eat the most eggs. Jenna wins the challenge and she gets to draw on Sam’s naked chest with a black magic marker.
Sam makes it to the morning meeting in time to discover that Marty the executive is dead. Russ calls for a moment of silence, but Sam continues to talk. Russ ponders what kind of man would talk during a moment of silence for the dead. The kind he wants on his team, that’s what kind! After all, this is a business, not a homosexual coming of age story.
One twist is that because of Marty’s death, everyone has to go take a physical. During the physical, the male nurse asks Sam to remove his shirt. When Sam removes his shirt we see that Sam has a black bra drawn on his chest (and text insulting his genitals). The only cares that Sam’s cholesterol is at 700, a dangerous level. Sam explains that he was in an egg eating contest the night before. The nurse agrees to retest him tomorrow, but he’ll have to keep a food journal and wear a pedometer.
Back at the apartment, Sully is coaching Lizzy on becoming a bar manager. First she needs to learn how to throw out angry drunks. Sully acts as the drunk. Lizzy throws him down the stairs. Meanwhile, Sam’s on the couch seeking Piper’s advice. He wants to go out and party with Jenna again, but he’s got to get some work done. He makes Piper promise that no matter what happens she’ll make sure he gets his work done first.
Sam awakens in Cabo; he has won the tequilla challenge after several embarrassing incidents. Piper has tried to break it up but to no avail.
Sam heads home. He realizes his pedometer needs more steps and decides to cheat. The other passengers believing he is fondling himself and Sam is arrested. Sam is picked up at the airport detention center. He tells Meryl about a 'great girl'. He is taken to his presentation, which is much earlier then expected.
