Song |
"Heartbreaker" is a song by Canadian recording artist Justin Bieber. It was released on October 7, 2013,[1] and produced by T-Minus, Maejor Ali, and Chef Tone.[2] The song is the first in Bieber's series Music Mondays, where he will release a new single every week for 10 weeks until December 16, 2013.
Critical reception
Upon release, "Heartbreaker" received mixed reviews from music critics. Amy Sciarretto of PopCrush gave the song 3 out of 5 stars, stating that it "may be his most honest song" however was "not nearly as catchy" as anything in his back catalog. Sciarretto criticized the song's spoken word monologue, describing it as "slightly insincere" and stated it "didn't quite gel" and stated the delivery was "a bit off", however complimented Bieber for the song's "raw" lyrics and for opening up.[3] James Shotwell of Under the Gun Review called the song "sensual" and stated Bieber was "smoother than ever before", however stated that he was not "sold" on the theme of the song and that still found Bieber was lacking maturity.[4]
