- Comment: Please read WP:REFBOMB. There's one sentence here with 10 references. That just makes it difficult to read and review. You shouldn't be throwing every possible citation at the article, just including references as needed to support each fact stated. That usually means 1 or maybe 2 references per sentence. -- RoySmith (talk) 22:56, 12 May 2020 (UTC)

The Genetic Discrimination Observatory (GDO) was created in the spring of 2018 by McGill University Professor Yann Joly, PhD (DCL), FCAHS, Ad.E. with seed funding from Genome Canada, Génome Québec, the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Santé, and Quebec's Network of Applied Genetics Medicine. It is currently headquartered at the Centre of Genomics and Policy at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. It was launched internationally on March 23, 2020.[1][2][3] As of now, expert investigators from 19 jurisdictions have joined the GDO’s panel of international experts with knowledge in fields such as genetics, ethics, law, sociology and public policy.[4]
The GDO is dedicated to researching and preventing discrimination based on genomic and other omic data worldwide, a phenomenon otherwise known as genetic discrimination (GD).[5] It uses and interdisplinary, international, collaborative approach to reduce the disparity in national responses to the phenomenon of genetic discrimination. In addition to producing research, tools, policies and guidance on genetic discrimination, the GDO provide individuals the opportunity to confidentially report specific cases of genetic discrimination.
Outputs
In 2018, the GDO undertook its first project, the “Forum québécois sur la discrimination génétique” in the Canadian province of Quebec.[6][7][8]
Experts from the GDO have also conducted comparative reviews of international approaches to genetic discrimination, empirical studies and general studies related to genetic discrimination that are part of the GDO’s repository of studies.[9] Legal, jurisprudential and administrative approaches to genetic discrimination, are also accessible on the GDO website in live map format.[10][11]
