Sir Francis William Stronge KCMG (22 November 1856-20 August 1924), was a senior diplomat and the younger son of Sir John Calvert Stronge, 4th Baronet, he was later knighted in his own right.
He served as Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Santiago, Chile (1913-1919) and was knighted for his service..[1]
He also held the positions of:
- Ambassador to Mexico [2] [3][4]
- Minster General and Consul General to the Republic of Columbia (1906).[5]
- Consul General to Hungary (1903).[6]
He was appointed Councillor of Embassy in 1904 [7] and and Secretary of Embassy in 1903 [8]
On 10 November 1909 he married Maria Fraser, daughter of David Macdowall Fraser.
He also served as a Sub-Lieutenant in the Royal Tyrone Fusiliers, resigning his commission in 1876. [9]
