Shigeyuki Miya (宮繁之, Miya Shigeyuki) is a Japanese animator, storyboard artist and director.
Career
Shigeyuki Miya began his career in animation as an animation producer at Studio Deen although he initially planned on following his family's tradition to become an educator. Fellow animator and director, Kazuhiro Furuhashi, served as an important influence on Miya's choice to continue his career as an animator as Furuhashi asked Miya to work on the 1996 anime series Ruroni Kenshin, a series he was directing at Studio Deen.[1] Miya began creating his first storyboards during the production of TMS Entertainment's anime series Requiem from the Darkness in 2003[1] where he worked as a character designer after being approached by the producer of the series, Hiromichi Ōishi.[2] Miya had his directorial debut with the 17th Lupin III television special titled Angel Tactics that was released in 2005.[3][4]
Miya used a pen name Saraichito (更一灯) in productions where he had an advisory role in order to give more attention to staff working on a project.[5]
