Frederick Koon-Shing Leung is the Chair Professor and Kintoy Professor in Mathematics Education at the Faculty of Education of the University of Hong Kong.[1] He is the President of the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI).[2][3]
Career
Leung earned his PhD from the University of London Institute of Education.[4] His research area is in comparative studies in mathematics education.[5] He was appointed a Senior Fulbright Scholar in 2003[6][7] and a Changjiang Scholar by the Ministry of Education of China in 2014.[8]
Leung is a Hans Freudenthal Medallist and also a recipient of the Bronze Bauhinia Star.[9][10]
