Revision as of 23:35, 9 February 2024
Disco Mix Club (better known as DMC) was a DJ remix label which targeted professional disc jockeys and enthusiasts instead of the mass market. It resold megamixes and remixes, published a weekly magazine, and hosted an annual competition called the DMC World DJ Championships. The company also began the magazine Mixmag before it was sold to the British media group EMAP in January 1997.[1]
Musicians who contributed megamixes to the company included Alan Coulthard[2] (who coined the term "megamix"),[citation needed] Les Adams,[3] Chad Jackson, Dave Seaman, Steve Anderson, Peter Slaghuis, Paul Dakeyne, and Ben Liebrand.[citation needed]
Disco Mix Club went into voluntary liquidation in April 2023.[4][non-primary source needed]
