Captain Pandithar [1] (S. Ravindran), of LTTE was killed by the Sri Lankan Army on 09 January, 1985. LTTE claims him to be one of the 'foundation stones' [2] of Tamil Eelam. He was a childhood friend of Velupillai Prabhakaran and was the LTTE's accredited vice captain[3].
