Bhabani Prasad Mandal, FANSc[1] is an Indian theoretical physicist and distinguished professor at the Banaras Hindu University. He has done notable work in Quantum Field theory, Generalized BRST Transformations, RG Technique, Non-Hermitian Quantum Field theories.
Biography
Mandal was born on 29 January 1968[2] in West Bengal. He did his BSc and MSc in Physics from Visva Bharati University.[3] He was the university topper[2] in both his BSc and MSc. He did his PhD from IIT Kanpur under Prof. S. D Joglekar on 'BRST symmetry and Superspace formulation of gauge theories'.[2] He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Institute of Physics, Bhubaneswar.

- Fellow Award by National Academy of Science in 2023[1][3]
- ICSC World Laboratory (Lausanne, Switzerland) award in theoretical physics in memory of SUBRAHMANYAN Award by ICSC World Laboratory,Lausanne, Switzerland in 1998.[3]
- DAAD visitation fellowship Award by Helmholtz-Zentru-Rossendorf, Dresden, Germany in 2020.[3]
- JSPS Bridge Fellowship Award by Nihon University, Tokyo in 2015.[3]
