Bassam Adeel Jaleel is a Maldivian public figure and the current President of Football Association of Maldives. He was elected President of FAM in an election held in November 2016. [1]
Career
Before being elected as President of Football Association of Maldives, Bassam served as the General Secretary of the organization. He was also the Vice-Chairman of a local football club, Club Valencia. [2]
During Bassam's tenure, the Maldives national football team won the first SAFF Championship in 10 years. [3]
Prior to his career in sports, Bassam served as the Assistant Manager of the Maldives central bank, Maldives Monetary Authority.
Personal Life
Bassam was an avid footballer during his youth age. He played as a striker for the local club, Club Valencia before becoming the club's Vice-Chair.
Bassam is married to Maldivian television personality, Aminath Maureena, commonly known as Maureen. [4]
