* On February 2017, a popular film actress who was the member of AMMA, filed a police complaint that her car was hijacked by few men and the offenders took sexually explicit videos with the intent to blackmail her. [[Kerala Police]] arrested the goons that hijacked the car. During interrogation, one of the goons named [[Dileep]], was behind the conspiracy. Later [[Dileep]] was interrogated, and based on the circumstantial evidence collected by the police, a chargesheet was filed against [[Dileep]] and submitted before the Kerala Magistrate Court. The Court observed that there is prima facie evidence against [[Dileep]] and his arrest cannot be avoided. A total of 12 persons, including Dileep was arrested in the case. After being in police custody for 83 days, Dileep was granted conditional bail. He remains one of the twelve accused and the court case is still under trial. On Oct 19th 2018, Mr.Mohanlal, stated in a press meet that he had asked the resignation of Dileep. Dileep submitted his resignation which AMMA has now accepted. |

* On 19th Oct 2018, Actor [[Sridevika]] narrates in a letter that she had made a sexual harrassment complaint to AMMA Secretary and it has not got any response. "Someone was constantly knocking my hotel room door in the middle of the night and this happened for 3-4 nights continuously. I had called up the reception to look into who it was, and later they confirmed it’s the Director. My mother then addressed this issue with my co-actor and he helped me shift to a room on the floor where he was also staying.” The director then allegedly turned rude to her, not explaining scenes or looking at her face. Her lines and shorts were chopped. “Many of the production controllers who called for casting in new projects first ask the question: ‘Will you compromise with producer/ director/ actor?’ before even asking whether the actor has interest to work on those projects.” AMMA did not have a grievance committee then. She narrates that she did not know how to confront these issues. When you make a call to the AMMA's Executive Committee (for an issue), the EC member would try "to put the fire out on that very first call". They always shunt the complainant. The method was to console the complainant and dissuade her/him from making it official. Hence complaints were never raised nor were they properly addressed," she writes. Sridevika adds that AMMA Secretary after listening to her concerns, asked her not to raise a complaint since that may hamper her career, as no producer would cast her in the future.”<ref name="The News Minute">[https://www.thenewsminute.com/article/amma-partners-powerful-asks-weak-adjust-actor-sridevika-speaks-90251]. - In March 2017, based on the petition by director Vinayan in 2012, Competition Commission of India (CCI), imposed a total fine of Rs 11.25 Lakhs on the AMMA and Film Employees Federation Of Kerala (FEFKA) for denying opportunities for Vinayan, preventing artists from co-operating with Vinayan, and rejecting his films from theaters.[3][4]
- On 19th Oct 2018, Actor Sridevika narrates in a letter that she had made a sexual harrassment complaint to AMMA Secretary and it has not got any response. "Someone was constantly knocking my hotel room door in the middle of the night and this happened for 3-4 nights continuously. She narrates that she did not know how to confront these issues. When you make a call to the AMMA's Executive Committee (for an issue), the EC member would try "to put the fire out on that very first call". They always shunt the complainant. The method was to console the complainant and dissuade her/him from making it official.
