Armageddon theology is the fundamental belief that a final war will be fought between the forces of good and evil, led by God and Satan respectively, occurring at Tel Megiddo. The word Armageddon is derived from the word Megiddo. Armageddon theology is part of the Christian eschatology found within Dispensationalism, and was popularised in the Left Behind novels of Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins.
Influence
According to Donald E. Wagner, Professor of Religion and Director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at North Park University, Ronald Reagan was an adherent of "Armageddon theology," and "seemed to blend his political analysis with his Armageddon theology quite naturally."[1]
