Organization
The security was managed by the federal police, the police of Buenos Aires, and the military house. The streets around and in the vicinity of the National Congress were closed since 17:30: Av. de Mayo, Rivadavia, Bartolomé Mitre, Riobamba/Combate de los Pozos, Hipólito Yrigoyen, Entre Ríos, Adolfo Alsina, and Ayacucho. Although they are not in the immediate vicinity, there were security operations at Av. Corrientes, Leandro N. Alem, Paseo Colón, Junín and Belgrano.[1]
Mayor Jorge Macri opened the regular sessions of the Buenos Aires legislature on the same day, at 9:00. Governor Axel Kicillof of the Buenos Aires Province was scheduled to do the same as well, but moved the local ceremony to the following Monday.[1]
Contents and delivery
Contrary to tradition, the ceremony was held at 21:00, instead of noon. According to the presidential spokesman Manuel Adorni, the ceremony was held out of usual labor hours to ensure that most people would be able to see it. The ceremony was broadcast by cadena nacional.[1]
