The Scream 2009 nominees were selected by the Advisory Board of Hollywood and Genre Leaders.[1] The advisory board included Wes Craven, Roland Emmerich, Neil Gaiman, Frank Miller, Eli Roth and Zack Snyder etc.[1] The winners were be chosen by a process of public online voting on the Spike TV website,[7] which ran up until the day of the ceremony (Saturday, 17 October 2009[5][1]) where they were announced. The nominees[4][1][2] and winners[9] of the 2009 Scream Awards were as follows:-
Notable appearances included William Shatner accepting the Ultimate Scream award for J. J. Abrams' reboot of the Star Trek franchise.
