Johnny Sei-Hoe Hon (born 22 December 1971) is a Hong Kong born international businessman. He is the founder and Executive Chairman of Global Group International Holdings Ltd., a company he established after working at ABN AMRO[1][2]Bank in Hong Kong. Dr. Hon is experienced in various fields of the financial industry including financial planning, lending, portfolio management, tax structuring and trust formation.
Dr. Hon is an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and is a qualified financial advisor.

Family Life
Dr. Hon was born in Hong Kong on 22 December 1971 to his Father, Hon Tak Sun, and Mother, Wong Ling (Betty). Hon has one younger brother. Dr. Hon now has four daughters of his own, Cecilia Yan-Tung Hon, Jacqueline Yan-Ching Hon, Rachel Yan-Ling Hon, and Sabrina Yan-Yiu Hon.[3]
Early Life and Education
In 1985 and at the age of 13, Dr. Hon departed Hong Kong to study abroad. He began his international studies at Uppingham School[1] in the United Kingdom, and then in 1993 he furthered his education at King's College London[1]. Following that, Dr. Hon moved on to Hughes Hall at the University of Cambridge[4], where he succeeded in obtaining his Ph.D. degree in Psychiatry[1][2][5]. Beyond Dr. Hon’s studies at Cambridge, he also attended the School of Oriental and African Studies at London University as well as Harvard University[1][4], he holds postgraduate certifications from both. Dr. Hon has also been invited to speak as a guest Professor at several top Chinese educational institutions.
Career
Following the completion of his Ph.D. at Cambridge, Dr. Johnny Hon started his career in the private banking sector at ABN AMRO Bank[1][2][5] in Hong Kong. It was in 1997 that he left private banking and went on to establish Global Group International Holdings Ltd., a company that has since developed into an international venture capital company. Global Group’s business portfolio includes such sectors as; banking, biotechnology, education, entertainment, leisure, financial services, financial technology, gaming, media, mining, oil and gas, property development and sports[1][5].
Media and Entertainment
Media and entertainment investment is among Dr. Hon’s and the Global Group’s key business interests. Dr. Hon is an active investor in the entertainment industry and has been Executive Producer for a number of international projects. He worked with Oliver Stone on the George W. Bush biopic “W.”[2] as well as Derek Yee on the film “Protégé,”[2] and with Gong Ying Tian on the film “Crazy Lottery”.
Dr. Hon has more recently become involved in the theatre business. He worked with Lord Grade on the revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Sunset Boulevard” starring Glenn Close. He was also Executive Producer of the West End musical, “42nd Street”.[6]
Public Life
Dr. Hon has involvement in a range of philanthropic, diplomatic and political projects. He is the Ambassador-at-large for Grenada and the Honorary Consul of Grenada in Hong Kong[1][4][2][7].He holds official positions within four governments. He is a Fellow of the Duke of Edinburgh Award World Fellowship[2] and in 2016 was the first to be awarded the title of Diamond Benefactor for his contributions to the Fellowship. Dr. Hon is also a Founder Benefactor of Asia House and Vice President of the 48 Group Club in the United Kingdom.
The Global Group is an active sponsor of various educational funds and scholarships in both China and UK, including for University of Oxford[8] and Peking University[9]. The educational scholarships were created to open up opportunities for Chinese students. In July 2015, Dr. Hon was awarded the Medal of Honour from the Government of Hong Kong SAR for his contributions to the Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society, Kowloon.[10]
