Inserting a superscript for every time a team gets eliminated is cumbersome as it may lead to instances wherein team placements could have several superscripts imposed due to teams getting penalties, etc. Tag: Reverted |

The Amazing Race 34 is the thirty-fourth installment of the American reality television show The Amazing Race. It features twelve teams of two (for the first time since The Amazing Race 15) in a race around the world for a US$1 million grand prize.
The season is set to premiere on September 21, 2022 following the premiere of Survivor 43.[1]
Production
Development and filming
On March 9, 2022, CBS renewed The Amazing Race for a thirty-fourth season set to air during the 2022–23 television season.[2][3][4]
Just as in the previous season, production began on May 22, 2022 with the chartered Titan Airways Boeing 757, used to reduce personal interactions associated with COVID-19 infections, departing from Los Angeles International Airport.[5][6] Filming began on May 25, 2022 in Munich, Germany, with this season traveled to three continents and included visits to Austria, Italy, France, Spain, Iceland, Tennessee,[a] and a first-time visit to Jordan,[7][8][9] where teams visited the ancient city of Petra, experienced a scene reminiscent of Lawrence of Arabia, performed a Jordanian folk dance, and learned the Arabic alphabet.[10] Filming lasted for three weeks and concluded in mid-June.[11][12]
This will be the first time an Amazing Race franchise does not feature non-elimination legs, the first season since The Amazing Race 15 to feature twelve teams, and the first time teams begin the first leg outside of the United States.[b][13] Much like the previous season, this season does not feature any U-Turns.[14] The first leg of the season, announced as the 400th leg, featured "a game-changing element" called the Scramble, where teams were told the locations of all of the tasks that they had to complete at the start of the leg.[10][15][16]
Prior to the premiere, CBS News Sunday Morning aired a segment with correspondent Tracy Smith competing on the first leg with her husband John D'Amelio.[17]
Casting
Casting opened in mid-November 2021. Contestants were required to be fully vaccinated.[18]
Cast
The cast includes Big Brother 23 HouseGuests Derek Xiao and Claire Rehfuss,[19][20] former Los Angeles Rams cheerleader Quinton Peron, and former New York Jets and Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan.[21] Aubrey & David were initially not selected for the final cast, but were called to compete two hours before The Amazing Race started production.[22]
