Conflict of Interest and Username policies
Hello, Jusjoose. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
- instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you.
- Also, your username violates the wp:Username policy -- it is not permitted to have a username that is the same name as a company or band or other organization. 1) that is considered promotional, and promotion is not allowed on Wikipedia 2) usernames are for individuals, not groups, and must not be shared. You must change your username before you continue editing. There is a page on that: Wikipedia:Changing username. You should look at the "Alternatives section" especially the fourth bullet point in that, as that is the easiest option. Even after you change your username, you still must comply with the Conflict of Interest policy, which means putting notices on your user page and on the talk page of the article. - Hi, you haven't responded to this, and it is important. Please let us know what your relationship is with the subject of the JusJoose article. And read through the COI policy. Even if you are not JusJoose but are a friend or associate, you have a COI which you need to declare. It doesn't mean you can't contribute to Wikipedia, it just means that you must be transparent about it, and also must follow some sensible guidelines. Thank you, LaMona (talk) 23:47, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
