The Intel Cache Acceleration Software (CAS) is an enterprise storage product for SSD caching.
CAS entered Intel's product line as a result of Intel's acquisition in August 2012 of Canadian start-up company Nevex Virtual Technologies;[1] Intel re-branded Nevex' CacheWorks to CAS with the release of version 2.0 in December 2012.[2]
CAS works with the enterprise-class Intel SSD products, such as the DC S3700 SATA drives and the 910-series PCIe cards. CAS provides awareness of the actual software applications' storage usage. CAS is available on both Windows and Linux.[3][1]
