- I've been editing for over 8 years with a lot of time spent patrolling vandalism in the past. I mostly monitor and work with the pages in the scope of WP:GATECH these days, and as I'm one of the most active editors in the project, the ability to rollback would be very helpful. - I have been active in anti-vandalism, and recently reached 400 edits. I would like to have rollback permission so that I can use huggle and continue fighting vandalism. I have not requested permissions in the past. l WyattAlex (talk) 05:03, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
- Not done Your anti-vandal works looks good, but I'm hesitant to grant an advanced permission considering your first edit was a mere five days ago. It's true that the volume of work you've done in those five days is quite impressive, but it may take time to grasp basic policy and get a feel for the wiki as a whole. Let's give it another week or so, and once you've hit 400 mainspace edits, please request again. — MusikAnimal talk 21:26, 6 November 2014 (UTC)

- Having rollback would be more convenient than having to manually undo. Wiki11790 talk 06:15, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
- Not done At the time of writing, your request is the only edit you've made in over four years. Before that it seems you've little experience fighting vandalism. Please see Wikipedia:Rollback to get an idea of what it's for, and if you're interested in getting involved, consider enrolling at the Counter Vandalism Academy to learn more. — MusikAnimal talk 22:05, 6 November 2014 (UTC)

- I have been editing on Wikipedia for four years. Although most active in article creation, I have an extensive watchlist and routinely investigate changes made to the articles on it. Rollback would be useful where I find multiple changes made by unhelpful contributors. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:11, 8 November 2014 (UTC)

- I've been doing my best reverting vandalism, and I've reached a point where I believe I'm ready to apply for rollback permissions. I primarily revert vandalism on wikipedia, watching over recent changes, and I believe rollback permissions would help greatly when patrolling, with the possibility of using tools like Huggle and WP:STiki. --I am Kethrus Talk to me! 17:12, 8 November 2014 (UTC)

- I would like to request rollback as it would help a lot in fighting vandalism, and, although I do have Twinkle to rollback, Rollbacking permissions would grant me the ability to use some useful tools, Such as huggle, also, If twinkle happens (Although I don't think it's happened before to me) to load unreliably, I could use rollback to revert instead. Anywho, Thanks. Duonaut (talk | contribs) 17:31, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
- Not done. Please see the notice at the top of this page. With only 33 edits to mainspace, I don't think you have sufficient editing experience yet. Take a moment to check out what counter-vandalism is at WP:CVU and when you have made 400 or so edits to articles you may wish to enroll at the Counter Vandalism Academy to learn more. - Hello! I've been reverting/fighting vandalism lately [1] [2] [3] and reverting unexplained content removal [4] [5] [6] [7], and I normally spot vandalism through recent changes. I'd like to apply for the rollback permission because when I find vandalism from RC, I have to go to the page's history and to an edit confirmation page before I can actually undo the edit, and I feel that vandalism should be reverted ASAP when it's found. I've only been on Wikipedia on this account for about 3 weeks, but I've been on since early August on my previous account (which was derpmeup). Also, with the 400 edits to the article namespace rule in this permission - this confirms I meet that requirement. Thanks! -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 17:34, 9 November 2014 (UTC)

- @Beeblebrox: Sorry if I'm saying this a bit late, but thanks for giving me these permissions! I've rolled back about 20 edits of vandalism so far. -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 22:01, 10 November 2014 (UTC)

- I want to get the rollback right so that I can revert vandalism. I've been editing Wikipedia, especially cricket related topics. Many users make large incorrect edits which results in vandalism and it's very tedious and time consuming reverting it each at a time. I assure you that I will use the right properly and help make Wikipedia better by handling vandalism. Ecnad Si Efil (talk) 13:10, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
- Not done. Your previous request was declined less than two weeks ago. Please get into the habit of making edit summaries so that we have something to measure even if you are using a mobile device. Make a few hundred genuine vandalism reverts that demonstrate you know the difference between 'incorrect edits' and pure vandalism, then ask again. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 13:49, 12 November 2014 (UTC)
- @Kudpung: I honestly think that a few hundred vandalism reverts is a bit much to get this permission; shouldn't it just be the 400 mainspace edit requirement, some vandalism reverting experience, and a reason to get the right? -Fimatic (talk | contribs) 03:23, 13 November 2014 (UTC)

- After seven years and over 3000 edits, I finally realized I could have saved a lot of time reverting vandalism with the rollback feature. Rollback would especially help with crafty vandals who "overlap" their edits: they vandalize, but then correct it in the next edit while vandalizing more content - so a simple revert reinstates the previous act of vandalism. --Tataryn (talk) 22:46, 12 November 2014 (UTC)

- I have rollback on Commons and know when and how to use it, I see myself using it sparingly here, most of the anti-vandalism I do here has been against subtle changes in which rollback would have been unhelpful, however I missed having it as a tool here, when I tried to undo edits I made myself on an article I was trying to revert to a state before my intervention in it.KTo288 (talk) 11:35, 13 November 2014 (UTC)

- I have been reverting vandalism manually and using Twinkle. But it is very difficult to manually spot vandalism. With rollback, I will be able to use Huggle which will make my anti-vandalism efforts effective. IEditEncyclopedia (talk) 14:41, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
- Some of my anti-vandlaism edits are [8], [9] (test edit), [10], [11], [12] (BLP issue), [13], [14], [15], [16]. --IEditEncyclopedia (talk) 14:47, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
- Not done. The list you've provided above is virtually the entirely of your anti-vandalism work; you've made 18 reversions at the time of writing. I also don't see any evidence of you accurately warning the users you've reverted, which is a fairly key element of anti-vandalism. Additionally, your edit count currently shows less than 400 edits to article space, which is pretty much a prerequisite for rollback. Yunshui 雲水 15:23, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
- Hi, you are right about me not warning users, which I will do from now on. However, my edit count is actually 496 (which I can see from the Preferences link), not less than 400 edits which you can see in X! Edit Counter because of server lag. Please see the notice at the top of that tool, " Caution: Replication lag is high, changes newer than 782 minutes may not be shown." Thank you. --IEditEncyclopedia (talk) 15:35, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
- Edit counter's laggy again? It does that sometimes... Nevertheless, simply looking at your editing pattern shows that your article space count is pretty inflated; it seems to take you twenty edits to accomplish what most users can do in one (e.g. adding square brackets one at a time to Coelichneumon cyaniventris racked up more edits that the entirety of your anti-vandalism work to date). I'm not happy granting you Rollback rights at this time. Yunshui 雲水 15:44, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
- Ok, thank you for your observation. I will try my best to edit more mainspace articles and revert more vandalisms. But the problem that I'm facing is that since I don't possess any automated tool that can filter vandalism, I have to manually check each and every edit from the "Recent changes" section to spot vandalism, which is a time-consuming process, but whenever I spot any vandalism, someone else have already reverted it (using Huggle). --IEditEncyclopedia (talk) 15:48, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
