Jamie Michelle Luner (b. May 12, 1971, Palo Alto, California) is an American actress, probably best-known for her role as "Lexi Sterling" on the night-time soap opera Melrose Place.
Background
Luner comes from a Jewish family and attended Beverly Hills High School. Following the cancellation of Just the Ten of Us, she attended the Epicurean Cooking School in Los Angeles, then apprenticed as a cook and landed a job as a chef in a French restaurant, although she continues acting (as of 2007).
At the age of four she made her first commercial for a tissue paper advertisement. She began in front of the cameras at age three doing TV commercials and by age 15 had won the L.A. Shakespeare Festival in the category of monologues.
In the July 1997 issue of FHM, Jamie was asked if she would pose for Playboy, and she said "They asked me a few years ago, but I said no. It's not that I don't loving having my picture taken, or that I'm ashamed of my body, but it doesn't have to be the kind of open-crotch shots you get in Playboy.".
Appeared in numerous TV commercials between 1974 to 1979. Jamie met her boyfriend, John Braz, a personal trainer and independent film maker, in Santa Monica, California, where he was managing a coffee shop. They dated from 1995 to 1999, ending their 4 year romance shortly before she landed the role as "Rachel Burke" on NBC’s Profiler.
Career
She began in front of the cameras at age three doing TV commercials and by age 15 had won the L.A. Shakespeare Festival in the category of monologues.
She first appeared in the TV series Growing Pains as "Cindy Lubbock", who was spun-off into Just the Ten of Us (1988–1990). She also appeared on Growing Pains a couple of other times as different characters (in the episodes "Some Enchanted Evening" and "Happy Halloween").
After leaving acting to become a chef, Luner returned to acting in 1993 in the television movie Moment of Truth: Why My Daughter?. Aaron Spelling and the producers of Savannah initially insisted she audition for the role of Lane, the sweet girl, and only allowed Luner to audition for Peyton at the end of the day, after they had seen numerous others.
Before she scored her role as Southern seductress Peyton Richards on Savanah, Jamie lost over 40 pounds. It took her six years to do it, and the weight's still off. "I have a lot more energy and I'm happier when I"m exercising", she stated at the time. Probably best-known for portraying Peyton on Savannah (1996) and Lexi in Melrose Place (1997–1999), Luner also appeared as "Rachel Burke" on the NBC crime drama Profiler (1999–2000), replacing Ally Walker.
She also appeared in a well-known photo for the October 1997 issue of Details magazine where she was photographed in her underwear, along with Melissa Joan Hart and Jeri Ryan.
