Suggestion for David
Hi David. I haven't participated in this discussion yet, but I have a few suggestions that you might find helpful moving forward.
Have you considered creating a registed WP:ACCOUNT? If you were to create an account, you wouldn't have to keep identifying yourself each and everytime you post a comment here in this discussion or on any other Wikipedia page. You also wouldn't be using a different IP address each time you post since your IP address won't be publicly visible, and allow posts will be attributed to your single registered account regardless of which IP address you log in from, and it will help others avoid confusing you with someone else who may also be using the same IP address to edit. A registered account will also make it easier for others to discuss things with you since they'll only have one user talk page to choose from instead of trying to chase you down by posting on various IP account user talk page. You can use your WP:REALNAME as your username if you like or you can choose something else, and you would only really need to WP:DECLARECOI by posting a message on your user page (IP accounts don't have user pages per se) stating that you're "David Carnivale" to avoid other mistakenly assuming you're someone else pretending to be you. You're not required to create an account and you can continue using IP accounts if you like, but a registered account might make things a bit easier for you.
Another suggestion would be for you to try an avoid presonally responding to every WP:!VOTE made by someone, unless you're asked for a response. It's best to assume that anyone participating in this discussion has read all that has been posted so far and has considered it when casting their !vote. Even though you're intentions are surely the best, constantly responding to each !vote posted could be mistaken for WP:BLUDGEONing, which could have the opposite effect of what you're hopoing for. While it's totally easy to understand your interest in this discussion and your concern that the article might possibly end up deleted; sometimes it can be helpful to just take a step back and let the process run its course. As posted above, I'm sure if someone needs further input or clarification from you, they will reach out.
These are only suggestions and you're free to ignore them if you want. For reference, I normally post stuff like the above on a user's user talk page, but I'm not sure what that is for you. So, I'm posting here on this AFD talk page instead. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:23, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you Marchjuly; good advice. I have the feeling I'm about to be shuffled off to oblivion shortly, so I'm unsure about setting up an account- I'll consider you thoughtful suggestion though, I will. As for letting things take their course, I suspect you are right about that. I've said my piece, have listed sources as documentation, and there's not much more for me to add. Thank you; I appreciate your advice. David. 72.227.222.26 (talk) 06:24, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
- One would hope that an editor's interest in Wikipedia is a bit more selfless. If you are knowledgeable about architecture and conservation there are undoubtedly many existing articles that can be improved, and possibly new articles to write. Wikipedia is about knowledge, not personal promotion. It would be great if you could stay here and share in the work. Lamona (talk) 17:34, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
Draft in progress
For any interested AfD participants, David raised this on my Talk and I stubbed a draft Draft:David Carnivale. I restored it to avoid any attribution issues, but he has provided additional sourcing on my Talk. My time to work on this is currently limited so wanted to be sure folks were aware.
