- Speedy delete as copyright violation. Even if given to the uploader as claim, it's a magazine cover and rights do not belong to that person. Eeekster (talk) 22:45, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Photo of a painting. No info who the painter is or when (s)he died. According to the article Stephen Brown (author) Father Stephen Brown (the man on the photo) died in 1962 so we can't know for sure that the painter died more than 70 years ago. If the painter gave permission we could use a formal permission in OTRS. MGA73 (talk) 20:21, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- The painting dates from the 1930s. It was painted to be hung in the Central Catholic Library, painter is at present unknown. It is the property of the Library, and the Council of the Library, through its honorary secretary, gave me permission to release an image of the painting into the public domain - I can provide a letter attesting to this if necessary. Please let me know what else I need to do to keep this image.Hohenloh + 20:45, 14 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Is Irish copyright law the same as US copyright law (so that the copyright to works for hire belongs to the employer), or is it the same as Swedish copyright law (so that the copyright to works for hire belongs to the employee)? That is, was the library allowed to give any permission in the first place? If anonymous, the EU copyright expired 70 years after it was made available to the public, so it is presumably in the public domain in the European Union. On the other hand, the United States copyright lasts for 95 years from publication (for published works) or for 120 years from creation (for unpublished anonymous works), so it seems that it is still copyrighted in the United States. --Stefan2 (talk) 15:29, 15 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
