User:NawlinWiki/List of things that will get speedily deleted
WP:CSD is an official Wikipedia policy. It is most emphatically not for individual Wikipedians to interpret as they wish. It is, essentially the law of what can be deleted speedily, and must be interpreted quite strictly. This page in this admin's userspace encourages bending of the rules to the extent that if everyone did this, there would be no order behind what was deleted - admins could just delete anything per WP:IDONTLIKEIT. WP:IAR only goes so far. We have WP:AFD and WP:PROD for the sorts of things on this list, and WP:SNOW is only an essay This is a large list of things which are not set out in the official criteria for speedy deletion, and before pages such as this can exist, they should be put into policy first.-Proactive primrose (talk) 19:40, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- Also, NawlinWiki's talkpage is regularly protected due to vandalism, denying those who do have their article deleted by him in an out-of-process deletion grounds to discuss it with the administrator in question, short of taking it to WP:DRV which seems like a long and relatively slow process.-Proactive primrose (talk) 19:43, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- Speedy keep - while it's arguable that the page should be tagged as an essay, you're missing the whole point of the page. It's some clarification of what CSD categories mean, specifically A7, G1, G2, G3, G11. //roux 19:50, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- I see what you mean to some degree. But what about deleting per WP:CRYSTAL? That has never, ever been a valid CSD. Ever. There are other examples too.-Proactive primrose (talk) 20:20, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- Also, films, since when have they been speedy deletable? Only when they meet WP:CSD#A7 under web content in the form of YouTube videos, really. Again, totally out of process.-Proactive primrose (talk) 20:21, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- And does little other than serve to quash legitimate discourse.-Proactive primrose (talk) 20:22, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- I suggest you try discussing this with the creator. Nawlins has been around for a long time, and MfD'ing this rather than discussing is as a nuclear warhead on an anthill. //roux 20:23, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- But since when was Wikipedia a place of elitism, where you have to be part of the 'club' to participate or have your voice heard? I thought it was more like a meritocracy, myself. After all, this is the encyclopedia anyone can edit - even ask Jimmy Wales that one.-Proactive primrose (talk) 20:36, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- Huh.. where did I say that? I didn't. My point was that since he has been around for a long time, he's rather more aware of what is an is not acceptable than someone who has only had this account for a couple of days. As such, it makes more sense to discuss with him than to immediately jump to MfD. //roux 21:15, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

- Speedy keep per roux. WP:IDONTLIKEIT is not a good reason to delete this essay. Some of the stuff on this userpage may not be good reasons for deletion, but that's for discussion with the admin. MfD'ing this userpage is a little hasty. This essay in the userspace breaks none of the rules listed at Wikipedia:User page. Cunard (talk) 22:17, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- Speedy keep: Everything on there, with the possible exception of the crystal-balling, is something that routinely gets speedy-deleted. Policy pages are descriptive, not prescriptive. --Carnildo (talk) 22:18, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- Speedy Keep - This should be expanded and shown whenever anyone attempts to create a new article. Delicious carbuncle (talk) 22:25, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
- Speedy keep - move along folks, nothing to see here in this MfD. The page is useful and correct...maybe we should link to it from WP:CSD. Frank | talk 22:27, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
