Seeing this politician is no longer running (with finality) for the presidency in the upcoming Philippine presidential election, 2016, I see no reason to keep this article.--RioHondo (talk) 04:06, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
- Keep There is still time left to file the Certificate of Candidacy and considering that his political adviser confirmed that he will run. He also told the reporters to wait until October 15 (the day before the deadline) for his final decision. On his 2013 mayoral campaign, he also filed his COC on the due date and several campaign advertisments aired on the television. We must keep this article until his final decision that is not that far. -–Angelo6397 T A L K! 05:12, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
- Read final statement from Duterte from yesterday: Duterte won't run for president: 'The country does not need me'. We can use some of the info from this article for merging with his bio article though.--RioHondo (talk) 05:32, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

- Delete as isn't going to happen. Deserves a line in the main Philippine presidential election, 2016 article though. This is exactly why people shouldn't start articles on presidential campaigns until their candidature is confirmed. Number 57 09:28, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
- Delete If he doesn't indeed file for candidacy by the deadline. (This AfD will probably reach beyond that date) Any extra material can be merged to Rodrigo Duterte#2016 Presidential elections and Philippine presidential election, 2016.Raykyogrou0 (Talk) 11:51, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

- We can delete this now. Duterte definitely not running for president.--RioHondo (talk) 01:03, 17 October 2015 (UTC)
- Delete not going to happen for now, just as in case with the failed notable presidential campaigns like Michele Bachmann presidential campaign, 2012, Newt Gingrich presidential campaign, 2012, Rick Perry presidential campaign, 2012 and Rick Santorum presidential campaign, 2012. But has no deserve to run again. ApprenticeFan work 11:32, 17 October 2015 (UTC)
- Unlike the above US pres'l candidates though, this Filipino politician has never announced his intention to run as president, has never hit the campaign trail, and whose candidacy is all speculations from media and netizens. Pres'l candidacies in the Philippines are different from US ones where the campaign period only begins after the filing of certificate of candidacy which this politician didn't.--RioHondo (talk) 15:19, 20 October 2015 (UTC)
