Titus Aebutius Helva, Roman consul in 499 BC. |
|||
During his year of consulate there was the siege of Fidenae, the capture of Crustumerium, and the secession of Praeneste from the Latins to Rome. Aulus Postumius Albus Regillensis was granted title of dictator to battle the Latins. He marched to Lake Regillus near Tusculum as Aulus Postumius' master of the horse. During the battle, Titus Aebutius wounded the Latin commander Octavius Mamilius in the breast, but was himself injured in the arm and taken out of the battle. The battle was won by the Romans leading to a few relatively peaceful years. |
