Fauji Foundation
Hello PakSol, and welcome to Wikipedia!
I appreciate your contributions to the Fauji Foundation article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text taken from other web sites. As a consequence, I have no choice but to undo your changes.
In addition, that material is not appropriate for an encyclopedic article as it is very promotional. All articles in this encyclopedia must be written from a neutral point of view and material should be verifiable in reliable secondary sources.
I'm not sure if you are affiliated with that foundation, if so our FAQ for organizations may be useful for you, you'll find it at WP:FAQ/Organizations.
If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask.
Kind regards, Amalthea 18:22, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- Amalthea, thanks for the clarification. So if the same information can be cited through 'other' sources, would it be ok? --PakSol (talk) 18:44, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply! You should keep in mind three aspects:
- The material should be presented "neutrally", like you would expect in an encyclopedia, and not like in an advertising or promotional brochure
- People reading the article should be able to verify the information, preferably in an independent source like a newspaper, but for neutral, basic facts the official website can sometimes suffice as a primary source
- You cannot use copyrighted text, so it must be your own words.
- I would recommend that you have at least a brief look at our policy pages regarding those aspects: WP:NPOV, WP:VERIFIABILITY, WP:RELIABLESOURCE. No need to read them top to bottom, but it helps to get a feel for what is considered important here.
I haven't really read the full content you added, but if you keep the above in mind and your goal is to write an encyclopedic article, not to promote, then I would welcome it if you kept adding material to that article. :)
Thank you for your understanding! Amalthea 19:05, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply! You should keep in mind three aspects:
Try to be unbiased on Wikipedia,Government of India never recognised any trekkers/authors map on Siachen officially
some trekkers and authors viewpoint and their maps was never official position of Government of India and neither it recognised them--Koodfaand (talk) 10:24, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
- Nobody cares what is the official position of Govt of India if the international community thinks otherwise. I find it rather surprising that you have roughed out the sources as 'some' trekkers and authors. I think you need to read the importance of secondary sources at Wikipedia. There are 101 things which Govt of Pakistan does not agree with, does that change the fact that Wikipedia contains 1000s of edits which are not against the stated policy of Pakistan? Please stop unnecessary edit wars --PakSol talk 23:58, 12 June 2015 (UTC)

Discretionary sanctions
Please carefully read this information:
The Arbitration Committee has authorised discretionary sanctions to be used for pages regarding India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic which you have edited. The Committee's decision is here.
Discretionary sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimize disruption to controversial topics. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to the topic that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behavior, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. This message is to notify you sanctions are authorised for the topic you are editing. Before continuing to edit this topic, please familiarise yourself with the discretionary sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.WikiProject Pakistan

Word of advice
Before I actually have a look at the issue (since you've mentioned me), just a few words, and take it as good advice from an experienced user: You have to use the talk page to resolve any dispute. Don't make too many reverts. You are not allowed to make more than 3 reverts on an article. If you cross that limit, technically you can get reported and be blocked. So please, if you have made an extra revert on that article, consider undoing your edit for the time being so that things don't go down that route. And once again, please use the talk page before making any preemptive edits. If you don't, it will only land you in further trouble and invite others to scrutinise you. If you want to stay on Wikipedia and not get blocked, please take this advice seriously. I have become quite used to seeing constructive editors end up getting blocked from the site simply due to content disputes/nationalist edit wars. So please take a step back and don't engage in anything of that sort. Regards, Mar4d (talk) 18:54, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- Also, although you've mentioned me, inviting users to support you in an argument can be taken as WP:CANVASSING, which is also frowned upon. So it is better to refrain from giving that impression. Mar4d (talk) 18:56, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- Mar4d Thanks for the headsup. I understand that committing more than 3 reverts on an article will get me blocked, so I had avoided it. I was not knowing that one cannot directly invite other users. If that be the case, please if you can explain me the procedure for asking a third party opinion in case of a dispute? Lastly, I will request you once again to have a look at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Mukti_Bahini thanks. PakSol (talk) 19:07, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
- Well, the first preference of course is to resolve the dispute with the conflicting party on the talk page and come to a compromise. When that fails, you can request an WP:RFC for uninvolved third opinions or go to the neutral point of view noticeboards. If you want across-the-board opinions from people who may have relevant knowledge of the topic, it would be better to post on the talk pages of relevant WikiProjects, such as the Pakistan noticeboard and Bangladesh noticeboard, so that the users present there may chirp in. This is usually better than directly involving specific editors. At the moment, your aim should be to use the talk page as much as possible and engage constructively with the opposing editor. As Desired
Sir, User:TopGun and User:Mar4d having understood the rules as explained by Mar4d, I request your valuable comments at the RFC: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Mukti_Bahini#RfC:_Should_the_revelations.2Fadmission_by_Prime_Minister_Modi_be_included_in_the_article.3F PakSol (talk) 20:54, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
Bangladesh Liberation War
Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
