This is a list of episodes for the professional wrestling television series called WWE SmackDown. WWE SmackDown and WWE Friday Night SmackDown is an American professional wrestling television program that is produced by WWE. The World Wrestling Federation name would last until May 5, 2002. The company would be forced to change to a new name called World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) after being sued and losing a lawsuit against the World Wildlife Fund over the WWF trademark. The new name of the company would start on May 6, 2002. They would also introduce a new logo to go along with the new name.[1] The company would change to a new name once again from World Wrestling Entertainment to just the initials of the WWE and that new name would begin starting on April 7, 2011.[2] The series has had various names throughout the shows history. Those names were WWF SmackDown, WWE SmackDown, WWE Friday Night SmackDown and WWE SmackDown Live.[3] [4] [5]
