Revision as of 16:58, 26 October 2022
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
- To list a technical request: the Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
- If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

- Pipa Natalya Romanivna (currently a redirect to Natalya Pipa) → Pipa Nataliya Romanivna (move · ) – right version of translation Prof Andriidonowan (talk) 18:16, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- @Andriidonowan: I'm contesting this. We can't use wikis as proof. We should find WP:RS in English to see where to place the article on the en.wiki. - UtherSRG (talk) 18:28, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- There are official rules for transliterating Ukrainian into the Latin alphabet. According to those rules, "Наталія" becomes "Nataliia", with a double I, not with "IY" as @Andriidonowan is proposing. We have an article about this, and also there's an official tool from the Ukrainian government that gives "II" as the correct transliteration. So based on this, I don't think this is uncontroversial. - Marta (Ricardo Arjona song) → Marta (song) (currently a redirect instead to Marta) (move · ) – WP:SONGDAB 162 etc. (talk) 07:56, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
- es:Marta (canción) is another song. Are we sure this non-charting song is the only notable one? In ictu oculi (talk) 13:54, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
- Marta (Nena Daconte song) since the charting song appears to have been a casual undiscussed deletion, I've restored it In ictu oculi (talk) 14:07, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
- Marta (Nena Daconte song) is unsourced and unnotable, a redirect to Nena Daconte seems fine. @Extraordinary Writ: 162 etc. (talk) 16:34, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
- Why is a charting song that is the only song on es.wp not notable, but an uncharting Spanish song which has no article on es.wp automatically notable on en.wp? There obviously are sources for the es.wp song since it charted. In ictu oculi (talk) 12:16, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- Per WP:NSONG: "Songs and singles are probably notable if they have been the subject of multiple, non-trivial published works whose sources are independent of the artist and label." If there are such reliable sources in the case of the Nena Daconte song, why haven't they been added to the article? 162 etc. (talk) 16:28, 25 October 2022 (UTC)

- Vellithira (2003 film) → Vellithira (currently a redirect instead to Velli Thirai) (move · ) – No other article with the same name. 2409:4073:210D:9ACF:3563:F42E:52D:C160 (talk) 08:10, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not sure about this. I don't know which film would be the WP:PTOPIC. If neither, then Vellithira should be a dab page pointing to both (or are there more?). Or perhaps an "other uses" hat note will suffice. - UtherSRG (talk) 12:08, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose two films same title one in Malayalam one in Tamil. In ictu oculi (talk) 15:53, 26 October 2022 (UTC)
- o-Cresol → ortho-Cresol (currently a redirect back to O-Cresol) (move · ) – o-Cresol is barely mentioned as an alternate name, and the lead uses the full name ortho-Cresol Lithopsian (talk) 14:00, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
