CSD unspecified on Wicked Loving Lies
Hi, I wanted to let you know that I have removed your WP:CSD, in which you did not list a specific reason for why it should be deleted, on Wicked Loving Lies. I do not see any criteria that appears to be applicable. If there is a specific Criteria for Speedy Deletion that you think applies, feel free to re-tag the article, but I think you may have more success with an alternative Deletion Processs. Monty845 01:50, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry I was in a hurry and had to go and left off the reason. It looked like an article with nothing listed on what it was. Wgolf (talk) 01:51, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
Message added 20:52, 27 August 2011 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
Welcome messages
Thanks for doing New Page Patrol. Where you put a speedy tag on an article, and the author is new and has no Welcome message on their talk page, it is a good idea to add one before the speedy notice - it makes it friendlier and less WP:BITEy, and gives them useful links so that they may learn and do better next time. {{firstarticle}} is a good one in those circumstances: it should be subst-ed, so you would type {{subst:firstarticle|articlename}}. There is an oddity about that one: it automatically adds your signature, so for once you shouldn't add ~~~~. There is good advice for speedy taggers at WP:10CSD and WP:A7M. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 20:52, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion converted to PROD: Kate's cellar
Hello Wgolf. I am just letting you know that I have converted the speedy deletion tag that you placed on Kate's cellar to a proposed deletion tag, because I do not believe CSD applies to the page in question. It's a bit hard to tell, but it seems to be about a book, and A7 doesn't cover books. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 18:10, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Glenn Berggoetz
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Glenn Berggoetz requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Ravendrop 06:24, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
Nomination of Glenn Berggoetz for deletion
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Glenn Berggoetz is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Worst Movie Ever! until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. --Bongwarrior (talk) 04:11, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 16
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Wonder of Women, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page German (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Well almost every film from the early Oscars have a page now
Added Wonder of Women a few days ago. Which means every film from the first 3 Oscars have a page. Now there is a page for a film named The Right to Love but its a different one then the one that was nominated, even if the same year.-which I just put as a template on some pages as The Right to Love. (On such stuff like the cinematographer page) Overall this is looking nice-since unless if I'm mistaken, I believe that is the only film now that has no page from the first 10 Oscars that is not a short film or nominated in the short live Dance cat. Great work. Yes, it's tough to find sources, but the main Oscar page is a good place to start. For example, this is the page for the 3rd Academy Awards to use as a WP:RS. Lugnuts Dick Laurent is dead 19:00, 24 January 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion as foreign
Satnami Awam Satnam Dharm - what foreign language article is it identical to? I don't find one on the Hindi Wikipedia; perhaps it's been deleted since you tagged our page? But do note that A2 ({{db-foreign}}) requires the foreign-language page to be substantially identical to a page on another project; whereas under A10, it just has to be on the same topic as a pre-existing en.wikipedia article. Being in a foreign language is not a speedy deletion criterion in itself: Non-criterion 16, last in the list). So I have not deleted it, pending someone identifying what it's about - if you did find the foreign original, please add it to the tag and I'll zap it after checking. Yngvadottir (talk) 18:26, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply at my talk page, and the article has now been deleted as a copyvio. In future: tag it with {{notenglish|NameOfLanguage}} (leaving out the language parameter if you don't know) and report it at WP:Pages needing translation into English, which is where I saw it. People do this surprisingly often - sometimes by mistake, sometimes as a first step and they then translate. Yngvadottir (talk) 18:54, 26 January 2014 (UTC)

Cheongna Dalton School
Why did you mark the Cheongna Dalton School entry for deletion?
You need to have links and references, if you want it not to be deleted mention it on the talk page of your page. Wgolf (talk) 02:20, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
Hi, I tagged this for a Speedy Deletion but see you beat me to the punch with the non-notable living person template. I restored your version; sorry about that. Zelse81 (talk) 05:05, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
Mark pages as patrolled after tagging
Hi Wgolf. I noticed that when you added a speedy deletion tag to Caleb Palmer, you forgot to mark the page as patrolled. After tagging a page, remember to click on the "Mark page as patrolled" link on the bottom-right of the page. This lets other editors know that someone has already checked the page and they do not need to waste time checking an already checked page. Thanks! K6ka (talk | contribs) 03:05, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
Is there any way you can revoke the proposed removal of the page Jay Parpworth? He's a very influential figure, although not "famous" or a "celebrity" - he is working with SB.TV which just so happens to be one of the biggest underground pathways into the world of music. I have no idea how this website works when it comes to these things so I would really appreciate it if you can review the page and then realise it is not breaking any of Wikipedia's rules or regulations? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chloemimo (talk • contribs) 14:20, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

Please be more careful
You PRODBLP'd Fred Parhad, as an article about a living person which had no references, correctly.
You then tagged it with {{link rot}} (no references, therefore no references with bare URLs), and {{refimprove}} (no references, therefore not logical to say it needs "additional" references: you also added {{unreferenced}}, which was correct. Please don't add irrelevant tags: it makes it more difficult for other editors to pick out the accurate tags. Thanks. PamD 22:51, 31 January 2014 (UTC) Okay thank you, I didn't even realize I did that-must of been trying to do another article and did that to it-again, thanks.

Thanks for the welcome. I am trying to create a page for an author who's book I received through a giveaway. He's notable, but Wikipedia keeps doing speedy deletion on him. How do I pass the A7 requirement for notability?

Jack Alexander Brooks
There actually was a reference in Jack Alexander Brooks, but it was buried in a syntax error. I've now fixed it. It's not a good reference, but it's something. I've thrown a refimprove tag on the article; maybe somebody else can do better. --Alexbook (talk) 02:44, 1 February 2014 (UTC) Yeah it was like how earlier tonight I found some film that had the wrong name listed as a director for years as someone changed it and never had it go back to normal. Something strange happening when using WP:PAGCUR?
Hi, Wgolf. I received notifications regarding changes made by you to Oleynik, Melnychuk, Sydorenko and Kuzmenko with no edit to the pages and no edit summary. They're all dated for 2 February, 2014, yet none show up it your contributions.
I'm wondering whether 'Page Curation' is triggering off some false readings when you browse through pages (i.e., interpreting a check as an 'nx' without leaving any form of edit summary).
Do you have any way of tracking whether it's done the same to other normal checks using it on pages not on my watchlist? I was considering installing it for my own usage, but don't want to deploy a buggy tool. Cheers, in advance, for any info you could supply! --Iryna Harpy (talk) 03:22, 2 February 2014 (UTC) That is odd-I don't think I have even gone to those pages.
Wgolf (talk) 03:23, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hmm. Something weird going on. Would you like me to forward my email notifications to you for your reference? --Iryna Harpy (talk) 03:26, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
It's okay, but it looks like it might be a bug. Wgolf (talk) 03:27, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
- I suspect so. You should probably report it. I'll send on the email notifications (should you need to reference them for reporting purposes). --Iryna Harpy (talk) 03:30, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
- Actually, rather than starting off a labour-intensive troubleshooting session for what may have just been a momentary glitch, I've kept the emails and a screen-capture of my watchlist. If you get any more reports about PAGCUR doing the same thing to other articles, just leave me a quick note on my talk page and I'll be able to access them for you. Happy editing! --Iryna Harpy (talk) 04:11, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
- Just to let you know that another list of these has appeared on a sequence of Ukrainian surname disambiguation pages (Shvets, Polishchuk (surname), etc.). Is Page Curation supposed to leave an automatic edit summary? Something is definitely going wrong. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 23:18, 2 February 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Mohammad Hassan Zolfaghari
Hello Wgolf. db-Hoax tags on obviously true articles
For articles that are obviously not hoaxes, but ideas invented by the article writer, there is the option of WP:CSD#A11. Don't add inapplicable db tags (especially ones that accuse editors of bad faith), it's a serious breech of civility. WilyD 09:55, 6 February 2014 (UTC)

Tagging of Frances Fry
I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Frances Fry. I do not think that Frances Fry fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because There are multiple claims of significance, including "...well known for her work published as greetings cards (Medici Society) and calendars". I request that you consider not re-tagging Frances Fry for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. DES (talk) 16:27, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

Introducing Twinkle
Hi there. I noticed that you help out in tagging new pages for maintenance or for deletion. I wanted to introduce you to Twinkle. Twinkle is a set of javascript functions that give autoconfirmed users many new options to assist them in anti-vandalism, tagging pages for maintenance or deletion, provides rollback links, welcome users, warn users, and much much more.
Many Wikipedians use Twinkle. So why not join the crowd? It's free and easy to use. Before using, you may want to read the Twinkle Documentation to familiarize yourself with the features. You may find that your editing experience on Wikipedia is much easier with this tool. Thanks, and I hope I helped! K6ka (talk | contribs) 16:49, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

Wgolf - you seem to have a pattern of putting template:db-test on things which are clearly not tests. Example 1, Example 2. Clearly, neither of these is a test, or is deletable under any other CSD criterion. Just because an article is ugly or you're unfamiliar with the topic, doesn't mean that you should try to delete it, especially under G2, which should be very sparingly applied. G2 is for genuine sandbox edits. Please re-read WP:CSD and please be extra careful about tagging the work of others for speedy deletion. -- Y not? 20:34, 7 February 2014 (UTC) Ha sorry sometimes it looks like a test page when I see something like "This is located north of somewhere" which when I once marked a page as something else like that someone else changed it to test so I figured that was where they went.
