In October 2009, the Philadelphia Eagles launched "Treating Animals With Kindness" (TAWK), which provides grants to animal welfare organizations to protect animals. The HSUS was selected as one of the grant recipients and received a $50,000 grant, which we used to launch our anti-dogfighting and community intervention programs in Philadelphia. Please stop your disruptive editing, as you did at Get on Up (film). Your edits have been reverted or removed.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive until the dispute is resolved through consensus. Continuing to edit disruptively may result in your being blocked from editing. Per MOS:LARGENUM and consensus at Wikiproject Film, do not again ever change the gross in the infobox to the full number. If you continue it will be taken as disruptive editing. Hi there! Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
I noticed your recent edit to A Most Wanted Man (film) does not have an edit summary. Please make sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
The edit summary appears in:
- User contributions
- Recent changes
- Watchlists
- Revision differences
- IRC channels
- Related changes
- New pages list and
- Article editing history
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. Thanks! Trafford09 (talk) 17:23, 28 September 2014 (UTC)
TOTD
Tip of the day...
Please summarize your work using the Edit summary box
If you make anything other than a minor edit to an article, it helps others if you fill in the edit summary. Edit summaries are visible in the page history, watchlists, and on Recent changes, so they help other users keep track of what is happening to a page. If you use section editing, the summary box is filled in with the section heading by default (in gray text), which you can follow with more detail. You also can put links to articles in the edit summary. Just put double brackets around [[the article title]] like you would normally. The summary is limited to 255 characters, so many people use common abbreviations, such as sp for correcting spelling mistakes, rm for remove, ce for copy-edit, etc. – – Read more:

Interstellar
Regarding Interstellar (film), it is problematic to use slang like "certified fresh" in an encyclopedia, not to mention that Metacritic is more suitable than Rotten Tomatoes because it has a middle ground (mixed reviews) whereas RT does not. (It is self-admittedly simplistic in nature.) In addition, it is worthwhile to break out the aggregate scores because it is not one god-critic reviewing the film. Identifying the categories in which critics fall is useful to at least identify the diversity of opinions, however minor. Other articles, to be frank, grossly simplify about the aggregate scores and do not make good use of details that are good to have in an encyclopedia. Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to The Social Network, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, and ideas—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Critical response
Hi there, with regard to your recent edit at The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, a few notes: I don't believe that your edit is consistent with the prevailing attitude of WikiProject Film, which seems to prefer that articles avoid summarizing critical response in black and white "generally positive"/"generally negative" language. Instead, it is preferable that critical response be presented as described by aggregators. There are a few reasons for this: 1) We don't need to summarize what is already a summary. 2) Occasionally, aggregators do not agree. In the case of Hey Arnold!: The Movie, RT gives it a 29%, which would be generally negative and Metacritic gives it a 47/100, indicating average reception. 3) Some of the film editors consider these summaries WP:SYNTHESIS. I would also note that saying that film "has received generally positive reviews" is a little misleading, since the film is still out. "Is receiving" would be more accurate, but it wouldn't sound right. This is one of the problems of trying to summarize something that is developing in real-time. Generally positive today may be average tomorrow. Time is really the best filter. Some discussions on the matter can be found here and here. Erik's note seems to summarize it, "Basically, we should avoid parsing a consensus, especially from Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic, on our own. We need to attribute the consensus to a specific source." For these reasons I think we should remove the summary, but I am interested in your perspective. Phrasing in reception sections
I guess I'm pretty biased, as most of the time when you see a reception section that begins "Rotten Tomatoes, a review aggregator, reports that...", it was written by me. I chose that format because 1) it explains what Rotten Tomatoes is and how it works, 2) it's grammatically correct, and 3) with regard to Metacritic, it avoids the whole issue of their stupid "universal acclaim", which is demonstrably false in the vast majority of cases. If you don't like that wording, that's alright. But if you replace it with something else, I'd strongly request that you avoid the peacock phrase "universal acclaim". Its use has been contentious in the past, and I really hate it. Every once in a while, someone will replace my stuffy-sounding but grammatically correct phrasing with something a bit less formal. However, using "with" as a conjunction is poor grammar, as this amusing article explains. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 03:29, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
- I agree with this note. "Universal acclaim" is BS. Surely there has to be SOME contrary opinion. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 07:01, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
- NinjaRobotPirate Cyphoidbomb under most circumstances I agree with you, they kind of give "universal acclaim" to a lot of films, but (1) Social Network (the film page I'm assuming you're referring to, that or Goodfellas, I edited both yesterday) both received universal acclaim so it's not a stretch, and (2) it's just part of the Metacritc "lingo", just like how you label their samples as "critics" and not "reviews", ala Rotten Tomatoes. But there are worse things to try and argue over on here haha

Negative reviews on Fifty Shades of Grey
Just to clarify, the negative reviews summary was achieved through community consensus. To not include it was chosen because 1) the reviews themselves, if you read them, were mediocre. They said that the movie was bad, but praised Johnson and said it was an improvement from the book. 2) 25% is only a percentage of critics that gave a bad review or somewhat. The percentage is not from reviews from a scale of 1 to 10. That's Metacritic. As you can see from Rotten Tomatoes, the rating average was 4.2/10, citing mixed reviews just like Metacritic. Hope that clears it. Callmemirela (Talk) ♑ 21:10, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
