I apologise for my uncalled remarks on the St Paul church discussion. I appreciate that it was a stretch for you to involve yourself in the discussion at [[Wikipedia talk:Schools]], and I also appreciate that you saw me as being less intransigent. We all make errors in judgement, and I did such in commenting as I did at St. Paul. I hope you can find it to forgive me. Nicodemus, I post this as a friend, and as someone who has been critical of all sides in recent AFD debates. You know that I respect your opinions, and your right to your strongly held views. I have never criticised you for that - and indeed, although I don't vote on such matters, I sometimes even agree with you. |
|||
However, your aggressive attitude to others is giving cause for concern. An RfC has been suggested. However, I offered to contact you first, and see if we couldn't avoid this. I've copied some diffs [[User:Doc glasgow/temp75|here]], and I'm inviting you to review these, and reflect on your tone and attitude. Your posts are often perceived as being less than civil (of course, you are not the only offender here, but that's not the point). We all type things in haste we sometimes regret later. If you are willing to indicate that you will take more care in future to avoid perceived incivility, I'm hopeful that this matter can rest. I'll await your response. Thanks. Revision as of 15:53, 13 November 2005
Hello, welcome to Wikipedia. You might like to start by reading the tutorial and introducing yourself at the new users page. If you have any questions, you can ask at the help desk or on my talk page. Two useful tips are that you can sign your name using four tildes (~~~~) and you can preview your changes before you save using the show preview button. You can regularly find new tips on the Community Portal. I look forward to reading your great articles and I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. :) Angela. 03:13, Apr 24, 2004 (UTC)
Untagged images
Hi, I noticed Image:Biretta.gif does not have information on its source or copyright status. Please choose an image copyright tag and insert it on the image page to show its status. If you do not know what to choose, just let me know the source of the image and any further information and I'll try to find out. Thanks. --AlbinoMonkey 04:53, 5 Jan 2005 (UTC)

a request for assistance
I created a Christian apologetics area. I thought it would be helpful. It has precedence as there is a Mormon apologetics subject area. It needs to be Wikied up and made to look nicer. Also, please add content.

Anuschka Tishcer
Thanks for understanding Anuschka Tischer´s importance. Would you mind taking a look at her colleague at Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Derek_Croxton? Cheers from Brazil. Doidimais Brasil 04:14, September 10, 2005 (UTC)

Elections
Hi, just wanted to let you know I replied to you on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Glenn Coggeshell III. I happen to strongly disagree that running for office makes one notable, for reasons I've (hopefully) explained there. Just thought you might want to know. Unnotable
You'd expect that it wasn't a word, but the OED actually has it! b. n. One who is not notable.
1861 H. S. CUNNINGHAM Wheat & Tares 324 If you get anybody else better worth having to dinner, I'll come in my sedan..along with the other unnotables.
Just being pedantic - I agree with what you're actually saying :-) Dlyons493 23:29, 23 September 2005 (UTC)
- Very very obscure. Indeed unnotable and hence self-referential. Dlyons493 23:36, 23 September 2005 (UTC)
Public school (UK)
Request for comment re Talk:Public school (UK). There is unreasonable resistance to acknowledging Scottish linguistic differences.--Mais oui! 09:00, 26 September 2005 (UTC)
Pot. Kettle. Black.
And what would you propose to change this circumstance? I am a fine and decent human being when people don't deliberately set out to push my buttons. I also respond well to civilized invitations to discussion (which is more than 'Schools are inherently notable. Period.') but less well to browbeating and frothing at the mouth. I'll make you a deal - I'll put down my gun if you put down yours. Denni☯ 00:39, 12 October 2005 (UTC)
I understand your vote in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Light Christian Academy. But, I think your reasons don't apply in this case. Verifiable, real schools should be kept. But, this is not a verifiably real school. In fact, even if verified, it may still not be a school. The 10 square metre "campus" is likely just a room in a parent's home. If this was a verifiable school, I would vote keep myself. I think an established pattern has emerged where all verifiable real K-12 schools are kept, but non verifiable ones are deleted. That seems like a good pattern, and good precident. --rob 22:10, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
Schools
Thanks for the message. I'll keep my eye on the AfD page regarding schools and vote every chance that I get. However, not sure how much maintenance that I will be able to help out with. I've been spending entirely too much time on WP in general and need to get back on top of learning medical stuff. I will keep the page on my watchlist...—Gaff ταλκ 05:06, 20 October 2005 (UTC)
Schoolwatch Association of Photographers
Hi Nicodemus. First I would like to thank you for all of the time you have vested in maintaining the parallel Schoolwatch / Articles for deletion page. Although our efforts are slightly redundant, I believe that each of them serve their own purpose and appreciate your time and effort. I am currently in the process of assembling a Schoolwatch photographers organization, and was wondering if you would be interested in joining by capturing schools within your area. Would you happen to have access to a digital camera? Bahn Mi 01:46, 21 October 2005 (UTC)
- Hi Bahn. I have actually been considering taking photos of local schools for some time. I think this is a worthy idea and perhaps a sub-project page should be added to the main schoolwatch project page to help facilitate participation in a photo project like this. I know there are a couple of pro-school editors in my city and I'd rather not have duplication of labour (driving to some of these schools will be a waste of time for several people). Let me know what you think.--Nicodemus75 07:11, 22 October 2005 (UTC)
- Adding a subpage to the Schoolwatch site sounds like a good idea. All of the photographs I take are being placed in Category:School images. Bahn Mi 08:38, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
Give it a rest!
Look, I'm as frustrated with the pointlessness of people nominating schools as you probably are. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Maryville Middle School is a total waste of time because 1) the result is obviously keep (nc) 2) despite all the words, no-one is listing to anyone. Please stop commenting on all the votes - you are only increasing the ill-feeling and it will make no difference to anything. Thanks. --Doc (?) 09:06, 27 October 2005 (UTC)
Hi, it turns out the proper Saint Paul Academy and Summit School article is not being considered for deletion. S paul academy was made as a copy, with an attack/nonsense paragraph added by a new user (who's made no other edits). I proposed a speedy re-direct (I already put in a non-functioning redirect). Please check in to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/S paul academy when you have a chance. Nobody is questioning the value of the real institution here. --rob 09:10, 27 October 2005 (UTC)

School Wiki
Im thinking of getting permition to start a School Wikipedia. The ilusionest, deletionist stuff is too tiresome and the main reason of that conflect. Creating a School Wiki will solve the conflect and everyone is happy. What do u say --JAranda | watz sup 07:42, 1 November 2005 (UTC)
Would you be interested in revisiting WP:SCH and having the two sides in the ongoing school debate pound out some sort of compromise that would end this hardline "keep/delete" nonsense that has been going on since July? If WP:MUSIC can do it I'm hopeful a topic associated with education can come to some sort of resonable compromise as well.Gateman1997 20:31, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
My RFA
Thank you very much for supporting my rather contentious request for adminship, but now that I've been promoted, I'd like to do a little dance here *DANCES*. If you have any specific issues/problems with me, please feel free to state them on my talk page so that I can work to prevent them in the future, and thanks once again! My recent edits to the Continuing Anglican Movement page
I see you took off my edits to the page on the Continuing Anglican Movement.I looked up all the related links and your number are wrong, and needed to be updated.Especially about the Anglican Catholic Church...they have about 200 parishes and missions world-wide.I know,I counted them. Please check your sources again.

Hi! This is not systematic bias. I am an Indian. I've nominated US lists for deletion as well. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Newsweek’s List of Top High Schools (2003), Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Newsweek's List of the 1,000 Top U.S. Schools and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Newsweek's List of the 1,000 Top U.S. Schools (2005). Could you please do a rethink on your vote. utcursch | talk 05:48, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
