Our church Bookstore
Gooday I was the author for this page and unfortunately I did not have a chance to reply to the proposal for deletion before the page got deleted. I don't work for this company (or own it or have any affiliation) but was just posting an article. Before this I have made pages without a user name including one on various australian physicists such as David Pegg, Joan Vaccaro, and Howard Wiseman (and some others). I understand Wikipedia doesn't want articles that are trivial but I produced this articles (along with the others) because I do not believe any of these are insignificant. Please explain why you though Our church Bookstore was trivial (I'm assuming that was the reason for deletion?) Grayza1234 01:48, 14 September 2007 (UTC)Grayza1234
Hi and thanks for starting the above article. I have left some thoughts about the article name on the article talk page and would be interested to know your thoughts. Cheers, Mattinbgn\ talk 01:55, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

Waverley Old Boys FC
Hi,
I am new to Wikipedia and the message you posted on our article makes no sense to me.
What do I need to include to avoid the article being deleted.
We are a soccer club and we are registered with the Eastern Suburbs Football Association in Sydney, NSW and have been so since 2001.
I would appreciate your reply as we don't want the article to be removed from Wikipedia.
Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anthonyzp (talk • contribs) 00:18, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Low level? We play in the Eastern Suburbs Premier League.
I am confused because there are many clubs who are in the same association as us and their articles are on Wikipedia. May I refer you to Lokomotiv Cove FC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lokomotiv_Cove).
They are in the same association as us and are actually in several leagues below us, yet their article is OK for wikipedia?
I removed the prod tag prior to reading your response and have now noticed you have passed on this article for deletion. Can you tell me what I need to include in this article? I thought I have done everything which is required? And please shed some light on Lokomotive Cove FC. They are below us, in terms of "amatuer level" yet their article seems to be running on wikipedia with no problems.
I am disappointed you have passed on the article for deletion. Doesn't seem fair. We were in the process of adding much more information on the page.
Craig Foster is a player for our club, and when you click his profile in wikipedia, it states Waverley Old Boys is his current club. When you clicked the link, nothing appeared, which is why we created our wikipedia article. You feel it is right, if someone who is interested in Craig Foster and wishes to research information on what club his currently playing for, they don't have a page to look at? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anthonyzp (talk • contribs) 00:38, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
again i am making no sense of anything...
are you able to simply tell me what it is exactly in our article which has made you pass it on for deletion? possibly in non-wikipedia terms? i went to lokomotives site and there is no deletion message on their front page...
thank you... just a simple explanation will do... talk to me as if i am new to wikipedia and i am not too familiar with the terms... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anthonyzp (talk • contribs) 00:52, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
hmm, just noticed the deletion talk for our article... are you saying if i list some independent sources proving we are an amatuer club, will that fix the article to your liking and in turn, it will no longer be in the list for articles to be deleted? thank you... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Anthonyzp (talk • contribs) 01:01, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
Nomadtales/Main South Line
hey mate, thanks for cleaning up after me. That page was actually just a temp page and both (if you have the power) can now be deleted. Thanks. Nomadtales 01:10, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
Palm Island, Queensland
Hi Matt, I would like Palm Island to be a 'to do' to get up to FA status :) Cheers, WikiTownsvillian 10:43, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks mate! yes I know that and I'm trying to brush up on my copyediting skills at the moment to give it a thorough going over, then I'll FINALLY try to do the mammoth task of summarising certain sections and putting them into their own articles. APR's suggestions will get me a long way down the path towards FA I think. Cheers, WikiTownsvillian 11:10, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Pinnaroo Border Cricket Associaction, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to a nonexistent page. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}}
to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. SQL(Query Me!) 05:37, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
Perth/WA
Dont know what it is but every dog and their owner wants to put another group that played in the backyard last week on those lists - had been talking about putting some sort of do not put anything here inside the article to stem the haemorage - but nah - oh well - the music in wa article and category try to stem the flood SatuSuro 23:41, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
- Forgot to say local editor Dan arndt has done some brilliant work in trying to tidy things up - and he had encountered the list/category conundrum (as well as hard to understand messages from me!) SatuSuro 01:11, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- SatuSuro's comments aren't that hard to understand as it pointed out previously there was a list of musical acts from Western Australian - when the list was converted to the two categories; [Category: Western Australian musical groups] & [Category:Western Australian musical artists] - I kept a version of the original list on my user page (as it included a number of Western Australian bands which didn't have specific articles - some of which are notable and others of which are not) - List of Western Australian Musical Acts. There are some gaps in the list that I am endeavouring to fill (abiet slowly) but am happy if you or others want to use it to populate the current list in the article.Dan arndt 06:11, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Ogilvy Rover
I didnt get a chance to reply before the file was deleted, but the site was CERTAINLY NOT advertising. We are part of Scouts Australia, and were adding our page to the wiki. Scouts has over 32million members world wide, and our group has been around since 1980. We are a well known group, and are a NOT FOR PROFIT organisation. So if you can explain how the site was in anyway advertising, id be VERY happy. feel free to email me at mikeyis@gmail.com .
i look for to your reply

Jason Clare
How can you argue that the endorsed Labor candidate for one of the safest Labor seats in Australia, who will certainly be elected whenever the election is held, is not notable? This is ridiculous. Intelligent Mr Toad 09:37, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
You say: "Hundreds of people run for elected office every election in Australia, most of whom are forgotten after the election even those endorsed by a major party." This comment is irrelevant as Clare is certain to be elected. He will get an article as soon as he is elected, so what is wrong with creating it now? You are wasting your time and mine with this stupid pedantry. Intelligent Mr Toad 11:00, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
It is not orginal research. The seat has existed for nearly 60 years and has always elected a Labor member. It is no more original research to say that Clare will be elected than it is to say the sun will come up tomorrow. Having to waste one's time with idiocy like this is why so many intelligent people are driven away from Wikipedia. Delete it if you want, I couldn't be bothered further with you. Intelligent Mr Toad 13:13, 23 September 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think Mr Clare is a mere candidate as he ousted the sitting member of a safe seat - bit different. This is a prominent seat having been held by Keating from 1969-1996. I have had a hand in deleting a fair few candidates for being mere candidates so am normally conservative. Clare ousted the sitting member who was quoted as saying in one of the references I would have liked to go as far as Paul (Keating) but . . . I've been denied Clare also held preselection in a competition against the candidate endorsed by the ALP exec and blessed by Whitlam. Whitlam had also blessed Latham (who had been his researcher) so perhaps not being blessed by Whitlam is a good thing :-). Definitely more interesting than your run of the mill candidate and I believe passes notability thresholds! We don't often disagree and I do respect your views but this time I differ :-) --Golden Wattle talk 00:40, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- Linked (although very tangentially) with a sex scandal :-) We did discuss looking out for candidates at WP:AWNB a while ago - see Wikipedia:Australian_Wikipedians'_notice_board/Archive_26#Federal_election_in_Australia_-_use_of_wikipedia_by_politicians_and_their_offices. A good link to watch suggested by Moondyne is Special:Recentchangeslinked/Changes related to Candidates of the Australian general election, 2007. There was also some discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Australian politics and I gave my views on candidate deletions at Talk:Candidates of the Australian general election, 2007#Articles about election candidates are speedily deleted!--Golden Wattle talk 01:36, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Sockpuppet reporting
You can suspect a sockpuppet (and label it as such citing evidence), but to be sure, you really need to request a checkuser be performed. I'll take a look at the edits to see what I can learn. -- Longhair\talk 23:31, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- Have you seen User:Amy_Veal, which another admin has suspected of also being a sock? Sorry I don't know the history of this user having never come across them. Is there a larger picture I'm missing? Are these socks of a banned user?-- Longhair\talk 23:38, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- I've taken a glance over the combined edits of the various accounts and realised a pattern of disruption. They also clear warnings from their talk page but a check back at the history of User talk:Muitint78 shows a disruptive trend forming. An indefinite block has only been handed out to User:Amy Veal as far as I can tell. If you can give me a list of the accounts you suspect this editor to be using I'll check them over and block them as sockpuppets if that's what is proven. -- Longhair\talk 00:08, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
- I've just blocked User:Muitint78. We'll wait and see what Riana wants to do with the remaining account. -- Longhair\talk 00:27, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
