Hello Collect. Welcome to my talk page.
Feel free to drop me a note. Just click the New section tab above or .
Just for future reference, G4 only applies to articles previously deleted per deletion discussions such as WP:AFD, not previous CSD taggings. Regards, Airplaneman ✈ 21:54, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
- If it again qualifies for CSD, yes, you can just add the same one again. BTW, all of this NPP-ing may make you burn out rather quickly. Have you tried working in other areas (some content improvement, maybe)? This may give you a better feel of what page creators are going through when their content is tagged for deletion. Airplaneman ✈ 22:03, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
- P.S. Archiving is preferred over blanking for talk pages, but it's your choice. Airplaneman ✈ 22:04, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
Hi Jsfouche. You tagged this as CSD A7, but it did not qualify as an A7 deletion. The article stated that he "is best known for writing chart topping songs with Madonna, Taylor Dayne [and so on]" so it asserted significance. But it was a copyright violation, so I've deleted it under CSD G12 instead. Thanks, Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 03:53, 2 November 2010 (UTC)
- The point is well taken. In hindsight, I should have flagged it as an unsourced BLP. Thanks!!jsfouche ☽☾ talk 04:52, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
Buenos Aires Metro
Hey Jsfouche, good move, beat me to it, now i hope it stays that way, ...the confusion starts at that its called Subterraneo in Argentina, and folks don't know how what the equal would be in English, should really be –Underground– but what the heck, Metro is definitely correct nowadays. In regards to templates and cats you've added to Leandro N. Alem metro station, its not really needed since this is a SubCat. I removed one so far that's definitely very inappropriate. Assistance
Hi Jsfouche, I see that you're currently online. I'm wondering if you could spare a few minutes to help me with something? Thanks. S Masters (talk) 04:54, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks so much. I have been helping out at Wikipedia:Triple Crown/Nominations to close nominations and give out the awards to those who have been successful, but it looks like I'm the only one there doing this for the last few weeks. Now, I am eligible for an award myself but there is no one there to give it out. It would be really weird to give myself an award, so I'm wondering if you could approve my nomination and send me the award. You just need to quickly check my nomination to ensure that all is in order. After that, you can use this award as a template (which I gave out yesterday), to send me one. You will need to change the pic to File:Triplecrown.jpg and the wording to just "Triple crown" and the link should go to Wikipedia:Triple_Crown#Regular_triple_crown_winners. Once that is done, you just need to move the entire entry down to "Users recently awarded, pending updates to main list", and I will do the rest. Is that OK? - S Masters (talk) 05:13, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, that's not right. You are supposed to put it on my talk page, and it should look like this sample. The thing that gets put in the "Users recently awarded, pending updates to main list" section is the actual nomination entry from the top of the page (just copy and paste from the top to the bottom). Thanks! S Masters (talk) 06:23, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
Thanks!
Thanks for copyediting D.J. Tanner per my request at the GOCE Request page. Normally, I'd just do it myself, but I've had to deal with exams lately and I'm not exactly thinking straight. (As evidenced by the fact that it took me five tries to spell "thinking"!) Thanks again --- cymru lass (hit me up)⁄(background check) 07:58, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
Famine in India
Your copyedit of the Famine in India article has been very helpful and takes us a step closer in getting GA status for the article. Thank you for doing the much required copyedit! Zuggernaut (talk) 01:33, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

- That is not correct. The author/owner does not have to claim a copyright, as it is assumed when the material is created in physical form. See Wikipedia:Copyright_problems#What.27s_copyrighted.3F. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 03:59, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Hi, each and every nursing journal is described as a medical journal, this one is now the only exception. That article explains such basic things as peer review, open access, etc. I see that you just changed the redirect into an article, but it is mainly a copy of "medical journal". There is absolutely no need for this article, just as we don't have articles on "physics journal", "biology journal", or "chemistry journal". All those journals are adequately described as scientific journal in their respective articles. Just as journals in law, sociology, literature, or economics are described as academic journal. As there is nothing that distinguishes nursing journals from medical journals, I strongly suggest that you restore the redirect. Thanks. --Crusio (talk) 17:59, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- Listing nursing journals as medical journals is not correct. It could be considered a scientific journal, but not medical. Existing nursing journal articles do not list as nursing journals because that article was a redirect. There is an existing Category for nursing journals, and this is where they are categorized. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 18:12, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- But now we have two almost identical articles. How about this: as I said above, biology, physics, etc. journals are all described in their respective articles as "scientific journal". What if we move "medical journal" to "healthcare journal" (with appropriate changes in the article to reflect this, of course) and redirect "nursing journal" and "medical journal" there. I can make equivalent changes in the category tree for journals: currently, Nursing journals is a subcat of Healthcare journals, which is a subcat of Medical journals. I can make "Healthcare journals" the top category, with "nursing journals" and "medical journals" as equivalent subcategories under that. --Crusio (talk) 18:19, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- That sounds like an appropriate suggestion. Glad you thought of that. Medicine and Nursing are both disciplines in Healthcare, so that is definitely more appropriate. Thank you. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 18:23, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks!! I will help clean up any redirects and edits as needed. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 18:28, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- I think it's done... Have a look at Category:Academic journals by subject area, which shows the complete categorization tree. --Crusio (talk) 18:47, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
Nursing journal cats
Hi again, I see that you have created several categories for nursing journals and put a {{CatDiffuse}} tage on the nursing journals top category. I guess you have emulated what was done for Category:Medical journals, but I am not sure this is the way to go. There are hundreds of medical journals, but only a couple of dozen nursing journals (even counting those on which we don't have an article yet). The result is several categories with just 1 member, 1 journal appears in 2 cats (in one it is the only member, the other only has 3 members. I think this may be a bit of WP:Overcategorization. I feel that it would make more sense to keep just the Category:Nursing journals. If a subgroup gets large enough, a subcat could be created (again) at a later point in time, but I would not place the {{CatDiffuse}} tag on the top cat. That way, all nursing journals would go into the top cat by default and only members of a sizable subgroup would go into a subcat. If you agree, all that is needed is to recategorize the journals, empty categories are automatically deleted after a few days.
Another small issue is that I see that you created a "nursing journal stub" template, which is indeed useful. However, I would suggest that it is a bit double to put both that stub template and a "nursing stub" on any journal article. A "nursing journal stub" should automatically be a "nursing stub" (I have changed the categorization accordingly). Happy editing! --Crusio (talk) 12:44, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you for clarifying about the stub. I am working on adding more journals. There are MANY that are still not on Wikipedia. I did have a question about how to use the journal cover image. Most websites have one, but I am assuming that the image is not licensed for use on WP, yet several other journals have this in the infobox. Suggestions?? jsfouche ☽☾ talk 13:41, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- I think that it is still best to create subcats only after enough articles can be categorized into them. Should something happen to you or should you lose interest in WP (don't hope so...) then we'd be stuck with these almost empty cats. As for covers, yes, they can used (at least on the English WP, not on many others), it's called "fair use". I have uploaded many covers and never experienced a problem. What I usually do is, I copy my "template" from File:G2Bcover.jpg and edit is as appropriate for the new cover. To make the new page, I change the URL from "G2Bcover.jpg" to "Foojournalcover.gif" or some such (there's probably a more regular way of doing this, but this works for me... :-). You should not upload covers to Commons, because fair use is not allowed there and they'll get speedied immediately (it's apparently something quite specific to US copyright law). --Crusio (talk) 13:49, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- I will take a look at the cats to see how many I have on my to-do list. THANK you for the information on the covers. That was extremely helpful. jsfouche ☽☾ talk 18:42, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Communist terrorism
Note that this is part of a specific plan promulgated as described in discussions at Talk:Communist terrorism including the new creation of Left-wing terrorism and major deletions from the Communist terrorism article to the POVforks including Revolutionary terrorism. [1] shows the colloquy between two editors. For which I stood accused of "paranoid musings" at [2]. Heck, read the whole talk page, and you will get the drift. Thanks.
