Sunstone linkDear JoeSperazza. Thanks for the link added to the sunstone article. I checked it and although it has many good things, the reference to Hrafns saga is not correct. The description how the sunstone was used is actually in Rauðúlfs þáttr, not Hrafns saga Sveinbjarnarsonar. So I would propose the link should be removed from the main text and added at the bottom as an external link. ArniEin (talk) 14:15, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for all the work you've done on this one and on Vegvísir, and sorry about obliterating one of your edits on the former - you're correct, it was an edit conflict. My browser crashed mid-edit and I was so glad the edit window came back with my changes, I didn't think to check whether anyone else had been working on the text.Yngvadottir (talk) 05:26, 28 December 2010 (UTC)

Please be sure to read and make sure you understand our policy on usernames before warning users about it; usernames which suggest a conflict of interest aren't prohibited in the policy unless it appears that they are editing on behalf of a group or company, so User:Hannover dk does not appear to be a violation. They've already been warned about their potential conflict of interest, which is the issue here. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 18:01, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Justin RhodesHello JoeSperrazza. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Justin Rhodes, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. School Cleanup Proj?
Hey,
Do you think that a WikiProject on School Cleanup would be something of interest? I mean after George H. Moody Middle School was redirected to the main district school site, and your tags, would it be a good idea to start redirecting/merging non-important information back to the district page?
► Wireless Keyboard ◄ 18:57, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, see my further comments on your talk page. Thanks, JoeSperrazza (talk) 19:08, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
Template for Redirect
I'm not too good at looking stuff up, but do you know if there is a template that we can put on the article telling the viewers abouta proposed redirect? ► Wireless Keyboard ◄ 19:24, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
- I believe the talk page notice (such as one I saw you did already) is the best way. I'll look to see if there's a template, but if so, I'm not aware of it. However, there are templates for lack of notability and lack (or no) references. Those should be added to the article's page, as appropriate.
- Here's a list from Twin Hickory Elementary School:
- {{Notability|date=January 2011}} {{Unreferenced|date=January 2011}} {{Primary sources|article|date=January 2011}}
- Here's a slightly different list for Three Chopt Elementary School, with the difference being the use of "Refimprove" vs. "Unreferenced":
- {{Notability|date=January 2011}} {{Refimprove|date=January 2011}} {{Primary sources|article|date=January 2011}}
- Finally, I'll note that Henrico High School may not be appropriate for a redirect, based on a very liberal interpretation of the WP:GNG:
- 1. In the lede, the article states:
Newsweek Magazine ranked Henrico High School number 928 in its 1500 top US high schools. Henrico High was the only Henrico County School to make the list in 2009.[http://www.newsweek.com/id/201160 "The Top of the Class The complete list of the 1,500 top U.S. high schools." Newsweek. 9 June 2009.]
- 2. I've seen it mentioned that while U.S. Elementary and Middle Schools don't get a "free pass" for articles, U.S. High Schools do. This discussion alludes to that. I've not found the base policy discussion that is explicit on that issue.
- As a consequence of point 1, I'm inclined to not Redirect or Merge that specific H.S., but instead try to improve it. As a consequence of point 2., I'm inclined to not propose Redirect or Merge of any U.S. High School articles, until or unless we find a policy or discussion that supports doing so. There's plenty of work to do by concentrating on Elementary and Middle schools only, and hopefully less drama will ensue, as well. I'll reiterate that it will make the process easier if everyone involved takes a very liberal view of "asserted notability".

- Awesome research! I will stick to that. Thanks ► Wireless Keyboard ◄ 19:53, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks! Here's the School Page Guidelines: WP:WPSCHOOLS. Let's be careful to follow them liberally (and by that I mean, if unsure, leave the article be). Encouraging good articles is the name of the game. Cheers, JoeSperrazza (talk) 23:41, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

WikiProject Colorado
The year 2011 has brought many changes to the State of Colorado. We have a new Governor and other state officers, two new U.S. Representatives, many new state legislators, and a new Mayor of Denver. WikiProject Colorado is updating many Colorado articles. Many Colorado places, people, and organizations need new articles. Portal:Colorado needs new featured articles.
Can you help us? Please see our list of some requested articles. If you wish, you may join WikiProject Colorado at Wikipedia:WikiProject Colorado/Members. If you have any questions, please leave me a message at User talk:Buaidh or e-mail me at Special:EmailUser/Buaidh. Thanks for any help you can provide.
Don't forget the Wikipedia 10th Anniversary event in Boulder tomorrow. Yours aye, Buaidh 21:55, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

Greetings Joe
Greetings Joe,
I've received your letter about my new editing. I understand well the responsibility new and old contributors have for wikipedia and people who are reading it. The information we provide must be reliable, trustworthy and providing lots of references for it's validation.
Please notice, that the sections I added in the page about Shen Yun, have many references to them and the information is not something "I made up", as it was well documented and published in various media sources. I hope you'll take some time to read it for your reference, to see that what is written is a valuable source of information and can be checked and verified.
I am not affiliated with Shen Yun, but I've seen the show three times when I lived in Toronto. Now I reside in Israel.

Consensus on School Redirects
There's been really no consensus on the redirects of the schools to Henrico County Public Schools. Should we like wait a week or so to see if consensus emerges, and if not, start redirecting the pages?

Smart edit filter
It's entirely possible that the post removal was accidental - particularly as the edit includes additions from DMS. There is a new "smart edit filter" which I ran afoul of a few times - when editing a section I think it tries to merge changes which previously would have just conflicted. Not 100% sure on the details, but this comes up fairly often :) --Errant (chat!) 23:27, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
- The diff clearly shows my text removed, and the editor in question's being added, with one intervening edit. If it is a "smart edit filter" bug that's doing that, its a doozy. My best guess is it was an edit conflict that was ignored. JoeSperrazza (talk) 23:30, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
From AN/I
Here's the diff I remembered[1], which prompted me to post this. This came after Dylan Flaherty (talk · contribs) seemed to have erased a comment from another editor (though I'm having trouble locating that diff ATM). Cheers :> Doc talk 00:52, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
- On the surface, the circumstances seem different. Moot point, I think, given the editor in question as responded at ANI and the talk page. JoeSperrazza (talk) 01:00, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
- I guess the best thing to remember is that there is some sort of "edit conflict" bug out there (as Errant and Boing! said Zebedee confirmed for us), and if the editor vehemently denies purposely erasing another editor's post on a high-profile page like AN/I, it's very possible that it was in fact inadvertent. Dylan was already in quite a bit of hot water when he "did" his, and it made no sense for him to deny it if he had done it on purpose. So it's not an isolated incident we're talking about here. Cheers :> Doc talk 01:11, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Re: Your comment on my talk page
Hi, in your remark "Ditto: the talk page for Abortion" you seems to be saying that I am using the talk page on Abortion as a forum? I am not sure of what you are refering to. I have registered support or opposition to the various pictures proposed for the lead there, and given reasons or based my support or opposition on reasons already given by others, as everyone there has been doing, but in what way have I been using it as a forum? User DMSBel 62.254.133.139 (talk) 22:26, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Hi again, sorry about that, I was not logged in when I made the changes to my own comments on the Abortion talk page. The IP 62.254.133.139 is me DMSBel. DMSBel (talk) 22:41, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
- Hi, I was referring to you not refactoring other's comments, or logging in if they were you. Do read WP:REFACTOR if you have a chance. I am sure you mean well, but it is hard to read some of your talk page comments given that you, at least sometimes, insert your comments between others', and edit your comments after the fact. Except for correcting typos, better to:
- Strike out things you've changed your mind about or retract
- Add things below others comments, in chronological order and indented

Your comments at my talk page
I appreciate you taking the time for the very tentative and self-contradictory welcome, which includes the threat implied in the warning template you used. However I don't think I will ever create an account on Wikipedia, it seems like a licence for real abuse of privilege as my recent experience with "editors" and "administrators" has taught me. By all means report my abusive behavior to Optimum Online or anyone else, why should I be the only one to have a laugh at this? 68.198.135.130 (talk) 15:38, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
- I'm sorry if the templates irritated you. Not registering for an account is your choice. Assuming a less-than-civil attitude won't get you far. Failing to play nice with others or not following the rules will inevitably result in you being blocked again, whether from this IP or another. If you find what you're doing so aggravating, perhaps you should find another way to occupy your efforts, whether it be other articles, other WP tasks, or just finding a better way to get along. JoeSperrazza (talk) 17:30, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not irritated in the least. Your arguments about civility and playing nice are specious and self-serving. I also have a suggestion: why don't you take a break from administering Wikipedia? Spend some time researching and citing a topic you care nothing about except for the fact that (to your extensive knowledge on the subject) it is portaryed inaccurately or inelegantly.
