On politics and policy
For what it's worth, personally I think the subject of that article is a horrible person who should be in jail at the very least, but it's really important for the integrity of the project that we uphold policy at all times and for all subjects. There are thousands of clear-cut examples that I suspect could triple that article's length if they were all included; I don't think we should be spending effort on the ambiguous ones, particularly when it risks giving the impression of editor bias (like this one's inclusion in the wrong section). No dissuasion intended of course, just some insight into my approach that doesn't really belong on the article talk page. – NULL ‹talk›

For your reading pleasure...
Betsy, what a fine editor you are! You're not a trial lawyer by any chance are you? (and if not you should be). Anyway, besides your intelligence I noticed that you have a sharp sense of humor as well. I thought you might enjoy this: [1] Best, Gandy Gandydancer (talk) 19:01, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
- Dear Gandydancer - that is hilarious!!! Thanks for sharing! Ivanka's very expensive white bag shows up so well in this picture [2]. Oh my! If they only knew how they really look. Also, thank you for your very kind words Gandy. Your encouragement and kindness mean a lot to me. Sincerely BetsyRMadison (talk) 19:19, 5 June 2020 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Killing of George Floyd are for discussion related to improving the article in specific ways based on reliable sources and the project policies and guidelines, not for general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics, or statements based on your thoughts or feelings. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. —Bagumba (talk) 08:04, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
- Just a reminder, again, that personal opinion and discussion is not what Wikipedia is for. Same reminder as above, same article as above. [| This] is not productive. ProudOfYourMan (talk) 16:53, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
- To: ProudOfYourMan - You are wrong. 1) My comment in this diff [3] is a fact, not an opinion, 2) it is not the same article, and 3) your comment to me, above, is a violation of WP:GASLIGHTING. So I suggest you follow the First law of holes and stop digging.
- You ProudOfYourMan joined WP 14 days ago and you appear to be engaging in trolling behavior on the talk page "Killing of Rayshard Brooks." You've already been warned against trolling. For example, in this diff, [4] WP editor Acroterion reminded/warned you that you could be topic banned if you continue to cross the line into trolling by repeatedly ignoring editors when they answer your questions about sourcing and referencing. In this diff, [5] WP editor SummerPhDv2.0 reminded/warned you to disclose your conflict of interest (COI) with the white supremacist group, The Proud Boys. In this diff [6] WP editor Beyond My Ken reminded/warned you again to disclose your conflict of interest (COI) with the white supremacist group, The Proud Boys. And in this diff [7] you were warned to stop edit-warring.
- Finally, if you have a reply to my comment that I put on the "Killing of Rayshard Brooks" talk page; then you reply to me on the article's talk page. Do not come to my personal talk page to further your trolling behavior. BetsyRMadison (talk) 18:10, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
- I'm not here to argue with you or even address your accusations that I'm somehow a white supremecist, because your opinion is worthless to me. I'm not the first person to warn you about personal opinions and soapboxing on that article, so I'm politely informing you that you're in the wrong here and you should consider stepping away from that article or at least read up on WP:NPOV before you chime in again. ProudOfYourMan (talk) 22:34, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
- BetsyRMadison, I appreciate the warnings you gave the above user; I have blocked them for a week for their unacceptable comments about a recently killed person. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 22:43, 27 June 2020 (UTC)
- ProudOfYourMan now indef blocked as a sock Beyond My Ken (talk) 23:26, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

Thanks
For doing the research and taking the time to debunk those arguments. Well done! Beyond My Ken (talk) 03:01, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
- To Beyond My Ken - You're welcome and thank you for reading my comments on those pages. I also think you've done a great job debunking arguments. BetsyRMadison (talk) 03:03, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
- Where? I'd like to see this good work. --David Tornheim (talk) 11:04, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
I hope this won't seem weird
...but you remind me of our good friend Corinne, who passed away, gosh, two years ago. EEng 11:41, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
- To EEng - I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one and I am very honored that I remind you of her. Thank you for letting me know. BetsyRMadison (talk) 13:26, 30 June 2020 (UTC)
Pings
Your use of atsme's signature at the head of your reply to her is causing the comment not to be properly indented. It would be better to draw her attention to your comment by using pings, i.e. {{ping|Atsme}} which will generate "@Atsme" and send a ping to her account. It only works when you first publish the comment, though, and the comment has to be signed. See template:ping for more. Beyond My Ken (talk) 01:26, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you. I did not know that. BetsyRMadison (talk) 01:31, 1 July 2020 (UTC)
TSLAQ
I am curious to get your take on the subject of TSLAQ. QRep2020 (talk) 04:16, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
- @QRep2020: I don't know anything about that group, in fact, your message is the first I've heard of them, so I have no opinion on that group. I do have my own opinions regarding the 'subject' of that group though; hint: I think a shrink would have their hands full & possibly the SEC & DOJ as well. BetsyRMadison (talk) 14:06, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
Sorry, I meant the subject of the article, which is TSLAQ the group of course. QRep2020 (talk) 14:23, 3 July 2020 (UTC)
- @QRep2020: Yes, I've heard he's polarizing & a slick-talker. I guess the best evidence of his slick-talkin' is that on this encyclopedia website, encyclopedia editors are debating on whether to say he "is" an "engineer" even when all the editors know he is not. That's one slick-talkin' dude for sure. BetsyRMadison (talk) 14:48, 3 July 2020 (UTC)

Fun time...
Hi there, have you seen this? [8] Gandydancer (talk) 03:50, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
- OMG!!! Gandydancer I can't stop laughing!!! Thanks for sharing that!! BetsyRMadison (talk) 17:10, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
John Lewis
Thanks for your passionate comments at Talk:John Lewis (civil rights leader). That needed to be said, and you were the perfect person to say it. -- MelanieN (talk) 16:07, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
