Good morning, as a matter of interest, I recently googled myself over the internet. My name is Gerry de la Cruz and I am a Foundation Member of Canberra Raiders Rugby League NRL Franchise. I noticed in the article that refers to me it describes my ancestry / heritage - stating my Mother Sri Lanakan and Father Filipino. While this is partially correct, I request that my full ancestry / heritage be stated for the record. My mother's parents - Father of Sri Lankan heritage and Mother Aboriginal Australian (Gudjal/Kudjala people), my Father's parents - his Father is of Filipino heritage and his Mother of Torres Strait Islander (Erub/Darnley Island) heritage. I am also interested in contributing to my page with factual information regarding my football career. I'm anticipating an administrator or someone responding to my post to advise me how I can contribute to the page about me in Wikipedia. Thank you --TSI Origins (talk) 01:13, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

- There are two parts to your query, with one part related to a request to improve and/or correct the reference to your heritage, and the second part noting your interest in contributing to the page about you (we generally use the phrase "page about you" rather than "my page").
- Regarding the first part of your query, you might be surprised to learn that we cannot take your word for it, partly because we don't know for sure that you are who you say you are, but more importantly, we want information and articles to be cited to reliable published sources. If there is a published source that discusses your Heritage, you can add it to the article talk page.
- To help you with this process, I'll provide a direct link to the talk page of the article:
- Talk:Gerry_de_la_Cruz
- In order to add a comment to the talk page, click on "new section" add your comment to the large empty box (sign your comment by adding
~~~~
at the end), add a subject or headline and then click on "publish changes".
- It is highly likely that simply posting on the talk page won't get noticed by enough people, so add the following template which will bring the request to the attention of a broader group of editors:
- {{request edit}}
- Regarding your comment that you would like to contribute to the article, please start by reading:
- Wikipedia:Autobiography
- In a nutshell, that guideline says that you are highly discouraged from directly editing the article about you but you are encouraged to propose changes and suggestions for improvement to the article talk page.
- (As a small aside, and there's no reason you should know this, but neither aspect of your query required an administrator. In Wikipedia, we have a generally flat structure; most things can be handled by ordinary editors. Administrators are not super editors but trusted individuals with the ability to block editors and delete pages, among other things, but none of the administrative tools relate to your request. Should you have additional need for help, the {{Help me}} template is likely to be appropriate.)--S Philbrick(Talk) 16:16, 11 March 2019 (UTC)
