Toni Arthur-Hay (born 27 December 1940) is an English director, former folk singer and television presenter.
Arthur-Hay was born in Oxford, England. She is most popularly remembered as one of the presenters of the children's programmes Play School and Play Away alongside Brian Cant. She also presented Woman's Hour, TVAM breakfast show and many other series.
She was married to the singer and storyteller Dave Arthur. Together they released several folk music albums in the late 1960s and early 1970s, including Morning Stands on Tiptoe (1967).[1]
She has written several plays and books.
In 2003 she directed a comedy based on the life of Graham Chapman entitled A Very Naughty Boy, which won a Fringe First prize at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
She is now married to former Time Out Magazine comedy editor Malcolm Hay. Together they are writing more plays.
