The Open Book Collective is founded upon equitable, community-led governance, and helps publishers to move beyond Book Processing Charges (BPCs). Central to the functioning of the Open Book Collective is an online platform that provides an easy way for libraries and other potential subscribers to compare, evaluate, and subscribe to different OA publishers and open service providers via membership packages.<ref name=":0">{{Cite journal |last1=Snyder |first1=Livy Onalee |last2=Fathallah |first2=Judith |date=2023-05-09 |title=Sustainable Futures for OA Books: The Open Book Collective |url=https://journals.publishing.umich.edu/jep/article/id/3372/ |journal=The Journal of Electronic Publishing |volume=26 |issue=1 |doi=10.3998/jep.3372 |issn=1080-2711}}{{Creative Commons text attribution notice|cc=by4|from this source=yes}}</ref> |
