1 | 1 | "Pilot" | Steve Hoefer | Dan Schneider | 5.7[2][3] | March 27, 2010 | 101 |
It starts when Tori Vega (Victoria Justice) works on a science project about mold with her science partner, then her sister Trina (Daniella Monet) walks in, kicks him out, and rehearses for her school's big showcase with a tenth grader named André (Leon Thomas III), who plays the keyboard. Tori is amazed at how good André is and they quickly become friends. On the day of the big showcase, Tori skips school to watch her sister perform. However, when Trina's tongue starts swelling up at the last minute, André suggests Tori fill in for her, as she knew the whole routine. Although nervous at first, she is a hit and gets a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend the elite Hollywood Arts High School, which she accepts. On her first day, Tori meets Robbie (Matt Bennett), a boy who often speaks through his ventriloquist dummy named Rex, and Cat (Ariana Grande), an eccentric girl who is easily upset. During acting class, a mean girl, Jade (Elizabeth Gillies), pours coffee on Tori's head during an improv session for "flirting" with her boyfriend, Beck (Avan Jogia) (Tori was really just trying to get rid of the coffee she accidentally spilled on him). When she decides she wants to leave, André and Trina convince her she shouldn't give up just because of Jade. On her second day, during a game of alphabet improv, Tori gets back at Jade by messing her up and kissing Beck. Notes: Nickelodeon promoted this episode as a "sneak preview" following the 2010 Kids' Choice Awards, earning 5.7 million viewers, making it the highest rated premiere for a live-action Nickelodeon series.[2] It was previously reported that the Victorious premiere was second in ratings to the Big Time Rush premiere.[3] But Dan Schneider stated on his official blog that Nickelodeon made an error making that report. The original broadcast of this episode was an extended cut, all subsequent airings had various scenes and lines were removed to conform to its time-slot. The extended cut version can be downloaded on iTunes and was featured on the iCarly DVD "iSpace Out".
2 | 2 | "The Bird Scene" | Steve Hoefer | Dan Schneider | 3.5[4] | April 11, 2010 | 102 |
Tori wants to try out for the lead role in a play called "Moonlight Magic" which André is writing the music for. However, according to Sikowitz, she must master a monologue known as "The Bird Scene" before she can be involved in any school production. Tori then memorizes the scene then acts it out in front of the class. Tori had to do the scene 3 times before she got it right. On the 3rd try Sikowitz tells Tori they have to believe in their own choices. Meanwhile André and Robbie sign up for ballet class as a way to meet girls, but find out they wern't the only ones with the bright idea. Tori throughout the episode didn't know how to decorate her locker. Decorating lockers is a Hollywood Arts tradition. In the end Tori puts up a title called, "Make it Shine" and lights to make her locker shine. Note: According to the Nickelodeon promo, this was the official premiere of Victorious.

Trina, however, doesn't think its a present since Tori didn't spend money on it. Trina then sells the song to a record company for $500 and buys a hat. She also gets a record deal because of the song, but the record producers later find out that Trina didn't sing the song, and they let Tori sing the song in her place. Then they get a call that someone played the song for Beyoncé and she went crazy for it. Meanwhile, Robbie and Cat have to help Robbie's grandmother with her computer problems, and Cat is bothered by her attitude towards her. Absent: Avan Jogia as Beck Oliver

After the two girls get a rottweiler who attacks and brutally injures Beck's father, Beck and Jade do get back together. Meanwhile, Robbie reviews Trina's one-woman show, which was so terrible it was almost funny. After some advice from André, and when Trina threatens him with bodily harm if he doesn't write a good review, Robbie is forced to make a decision, be honest or write a false review to please Trina. In the end, Trina does her show again in front of a much bigger audience. Absent: Ariana Grande as Cat Valentine

It causes problems when Tori tells her that she is in the lead role of a play and is supposed to look beautiful. She sends Trina and Cat on a drive to retrieve a solvent to take off the zombie mask, but they get distracted by ice cream and get pulled over by a cop and don't arrive until the closing number of the play. These high ratings came with the one-hour iCarly episode "iPsycho" serving the show's lead-in. [8][9] When Robbie first enters TheSlap studio, one of the computers is on iCarly.com. Also, Robarazzi is played off as a parody of TMZ.com and the TMZ TV series. Sky Store is also a parody of Sky Mall.

Even though she is seen to play better than the rest of the team, Tori wasn't allowed in. Then, Cat opens a curtain to see André, Trina, Robbie, Beck and Jade all sick from the apparently poisonous fish. Guest Star: Matt Angel as Daniel Note: Although the main plot point in the episode's primary storyline is that Cat's boyfriend Daniel was Tori's ex-boyfriend, TV listings misidentified Daniel as being Trina's ex-boyfriend.[15][16] Matt Angel also played on the Big Time Rush episode "Big Time Bad Boy"; Big Time Rush is another series produced by Nickelodeon and Sony Music.
13–14 | 13–14 | "Freak the Freak Out"[18] | Steve Hoefer | Dan Schneider | 5.3[19] | November 26, 2010 | 119-120 |
Jade and Cat participate in a karaoke singing competition at Karaoke Dokie with Hayley Ferguson and her friend Tara Ganz, and even though the crowd enjoyed Jade and Cat's song more, Hayley won because her dad owned the karaoke place. Meanwhile, Tori is stuck at home taking care of Trina, who is in massive pain due to her wisdom teeth being removed. Angry that Hayley and Terra cheated, Jade makes up a scheme involving Tori. The next day, Jade and Cat ask Tori for help, which she agrees to. Tori then texts André and asks if he, Beck and Robbie can watch Trina until she gets back. Jade and Cat show up at Karaoke Dokie and bet Hayley and Tara that anyone in the place could impress the audience more, so Hayley picks a hideous girl to compete against (who is actually Tori in disguise) thinking that "Ugly Betty" will lose easily. If Hayley and Tara win, Hayley gets to make out with Beck, and if they lose, they have to take care of Trina whom Cat and Jade know will be torture to work with. However, Tori surprises everyone, especially Hayley and Tara, by taking off her ugly girl disguise and revealing her true self, including her song "Freak the Freak Out". The audience loved Tori more than Hayley, and Hayley and Tara end up having to take care of Trina. So they leave them with Trina and pick up the boys and they all go to Karaoke Dokie. In the end, Tori's drama teacher Mr. Sikowitz sings "Number One" by Ginger Fox (from iCarly). Guest Stars: Jillian Clare as Hayley Ferguson and Tom Virtue as Joey Ferguson, Hayley's father Note: Victoria Justice's song "Freak the Freak Out" is featured in this 1 hour special. Rex is badly damaged, and Tori takes Rex to the hospital. Everybody encourages Tori to "kill" Rex, but Tori disagrees. André struggles with forcing himself to cry. Cat tries to explain Rex's situation to a nurse, but is instead sent to a mental ward. Rex is set to lay line and does die, but Tori "revives" him, thus keeping Rex attached to Robbie. Songs featured: "Forever Baby"
16 | 16 | "The Diddly-Bops" | Steve Hoefer | Matt Fleckenstein | 3.5[21] | January 17, 2011 | 111 |
Tori and her friends are booked to perform at a little kid's birthday party as a favor for Sikowitz's friend (also they are getting paid $1,000). While trying to come up with a song to sing at the party, André gets a call from a record producer he met who says the label is interested in signing him, and he shares the news with Tori. At the party, Sikowitz introduces the group as "The Diddly-Bops", and they sing the song André wrote called "Favorite Foods". The next day at school Tori and Jade find out that a video of their performance was leaked on the internet (a little kid at the party recorded the performance with a camera phone), resulting in the Diddly-Bops becoming internet sensations. At lunch, the producer meets with André and tells him his boss decided not to sign him, saying the birthday party performance would ruin the label's image. Worried that he skipped two classes, Tori finds André in the blackbox theatre, still sad about not getting signed by the record label. He tells her he hates the "Favorite Foods" song, and she tells him to change it. He then changes the song into "Song2You" and plays it for Tori who loved it. She tells him to perform it at school and invite the producer and his boss. André says they won't come and Tori says she'll beg them to come, because she is a good begger. André agrees and then asks Tori to sing background for him which she happily agrees to. Meanwhile, Cat gets another gig for the Diddly-Bops. After the group says no, she recruits Trina, Sinjin and Sikowitz to be in the group. While performing, the kids knew they weren't the real Diddly-Bops and they are booed off stage. In order to get his big break, André sings his song "Song2You" with Tori in front of the school, and the producer and his boss were also there. André was a hit and at the end the producer's boss says he likes André, meaning he got his record deal. Songs featured: "Favorite Food", "Song2You", "Broken Glass", "Your The Reason"
17 | 17 | "Wok Star" | Adam Weissman | Jake Farrow | 3.6[21] | January 17, 2011 | 116 |
Jade writes her own play called "Well Wishes" and wants to perform it at the school, but the school won't let her because they said it's too weird. So Tori decides to help Jade put on the play herself and trys to find a way to pay to produce the play. While eating at Tori's favorite Chinese restaurant, Wok Star, Tori, André and Robbie meet the owner Mrs. Lee who is a fan of performing arts. Mrs. Lee shares with them her celebrity wall of the many celebrities who have eaten at her restaurant. She then tells them she is willing to pay for Jade's play. After meeting with Jade and Tori, Mrs. Lee tries to make changes to the script, and then tells Jade to put her daughter in the play (although her daughter is not very good). Jade is upset because she wanted to do the play her way and shares with Tori that she wanted to make her dad proud of her because she thinks he hates her. Tori and her friends then make a plan to keep Mrs. Lee from coming to the opening night by having André, Beck, Robbie and Trina distract her at the restaurant, with Trina posing as a celebrity. That way Jade can put on the play the way she meant it to, and so she can impress her dad. The plan goes perfectly and Jade's play was successful, and her dad liked the play. Note: Josh Peck from Drake & Josh makes a small cameo appearance as a member of the audience at Jade's play who comes up and congratulates Jade at the end.
