Jordi Urbea Castells (born June 6, 1960, in Sant Quirze de Besora, Barcelona) is a notable figure in the field of digital marketing and advertising in Spain. He currently holds the position of Senior Vice President of Ogilvy in Spain and serves as CEO of Ogilvy Barcelona[1]. Throughout his career, Urbea has been a pioneer in the Internet industry and has played an important role in shaping the digital landscape at a natonal level.[2]

Urbea is widely recognized for his fundamental role in the digital transformation of Ogilvy Spain's operations in Barcelona[3]. Under his leadership, he led the creation of Ogilvy's international Customer Engagement & Data hub in Europe, as well as the implementation of Ogilvy Mobile and Ogilvy Upcelerator, the Ogilvy group's first startup accelerator in the world[4]. This initiative has been a pioneer in the sector.[5]
Early years (1985 – 2004)
Before joining Ogilvy, Urbea held management positions in various pioneering digital companies, including Servicom, EresMas, Wanadoo, and Intercom. In 1998, he founded the interactive agency Avatar e-Studios, later acquired by communications group Bassat Ogilvy & Mather in 1999. That same year, he assumed the role of CEO of Ogilvy Interactive, a position he held for five years.[6]

Urbea is a regular speaker at conferences, universities[7], and institutions, disseminating insights into new trends in marketing, advertising, and the digital transformation of companies.
