On 26 January 2023, the Israeli defense conducted a raid against Palestinian militants in the city of Jenin in the West Bank. 9 Palestinians including 8 militants and a 60-year-old woman were killed.[1][2] This brings the number of Palestinians killed in the West Bank to 29 so far this year.[3] Clashes between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers are common in Jenin.
Reactions
The Palestinian government expressed its condemnation of the massacre and called for urgent international intervention.[4] The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), based in Jeddah, also condemned the "heinous crime committed by the Israeli occupation."[5]
