- Hello, I would like to have the new page reviewer rights to help with the backlog of pages to review. I can help in eliminating spam, a lot of times when I create articles it stays unreviewed for several weeks, so I would like to help out in this way. I have been helping Wikipedia to stay away from Spam and have deleted several spam pages. I have been working at New Pages Patrol without the rights and I have been active at AFD (successfully nominated and deleted over 50 pages), the right will help to clear the backlog. I feel with my experience I will be able to successfully and efficiently review new articles and pages.
- I also have over 1400 total edits and 34 articles created, none of them are deleted. I have also learned what is WP:GNG and what are WP:RS and really to help Wikipedia to stay away from Spam. The right will be useful if I could patrol them as well as doing the manual of style tidy up and categorization. Thanks Meeanaya (talk) 05:44, 13 October 2019 (UTC)
- (Non-administrator comment) Meeanaya might need a bit more experience before reviewing new pages, per their comment yesterday: "As far as what I have understand from WP:GNG, if a topic is notable, it is not essential to have sources, it is good to have verifiable sources for it." Schazjmd (talk) 15:20, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
- Schazjmd, I think you have missed the context of the conversation, user CASSIOPEIA has moved two my pages to draft in the last 30 days due to lack of sources; which is in a way was incorrect as it was a page for village. Both of these pages got approved again through WP:AFC within 48 hours. Last example was Jaswantgarh (Udaipur). The existing New page reviewer (CASSIOPEIA) had missed Template:WikiProject Cities. Meeanaya (talk) 18:37, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
- If you will look at my AFDs you will probably some of the great work when several senior editors were wrong (including admins) and I have pulled page to mainspace from draft. Please review this example Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2019 August 1 and my work at his AFD. I have flagged over 50 pages through AFD and successfully deleted these even when they were on the Wiki from 3+ years and really failed WP:GNG. This is a very clear proof of my substantial understanding of WP:GNG, if I will get the New Page Reviewer right, no spam will be approved by me. My comment on CASSIOPEIA was a little vague to find the exact same mistake and he was again proven wrong while curating the pages I have created. Meeanaya (talk) 18:52, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

- Done for a 3 month trial. If you haven't already please really read WP:NPP. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask me or other patrollers. Barkeep49 (talk) 20:39, 18 October 2019 (UTC)

- Hello, I would like to request to be a new page reviewer and have the rights to help with the backlog of pages to review. I have been in wikipedia since 2012 and have created articles and still helping in creating new articles project at WP:Tambayan Philippines. I am patrolling some new pages by reviewing the references specially the notability based on WP:GNG guidelines and uses twinkle for tagging. Thanks. Wakowako (talk) 07:46, 13 October 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for volunteering Wakowako. It seems like you have a good grasp of our deletion policy and your new articles indicate some familiarity with notability. However, it seems you've had a few different issues with copyright infringement, including this from August. What have you done since then to avoid these kinds of problems? What have you done or what would you do to make sure you could spot copyright violations in articles you were reviewing? Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 20:58, 18 October 2019 (UTC)
- That was actually a copyright infringement because I lack the knowledge of what is the right method of paraphrasing, and that was accepted. This has been a good reason for me to try to learn ways to avoid copyright violations. I read the Wikipedia WP:CV rules, policies and guidelines and tried to apply to another article so I could see the result and learn for the threshold I have to use. Such lessons learned were that there were times when the article was not a copyright violations as it could be from Wikipedia itself (mirror sites). My experiences in this regard have been used in lessons, such as what to avoid, and what to do. I can say that I am in the learning stage just like everyone else that every mistake should make it a good learning lesson and I make it sure to properly address my mistakes. For now, reading WP:NPP tutorial on free time is a big help --Wakowako (talk) 06:15, 19 October 2019 (UTC)

- Thank you Joydeep ghosh for your time as a Wikipedia editor. I notice several articles you've created have been speedy deleted and that a few other editors have recently expressed concerns over the last month. It feels like new Page Patrolling is not the right next step for you in your time as a Wikipedia editor. I would suggest continuing your work editing articles, and paying attention to ensure you add good sources and don't add promotional edits. After doing a bit of this, Wikipedia:Reviewing pending changes or the Counter Vandalism Unit's Academy might be a good next step for you. For now Not done. hi Barkeep49 (talk) its ok but i would like to clear the issue you raised about concerns raised, it happened bcoz a senior editor who was treating a page like his own, wouldnt let me edit a page despite me having full rights to do so, i had to do lot of back and forth before i was able to significantly improve that page. ok there is always a next time.Joydeep ghosh (talk) 08:26, 19 October 2019 (UTC)

- I have recently started helping out at AFC and I would like to apply to be a new page reviewer as well. As with AfC, I intend to review pages on topics that I am comfortable in assessing. AugusteBlanqui (talk) 12:21, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

- @AugusteBlanqui: it looks like you're off to a good start at AfC. Given your limited track record at AfD and other deletion forums, 18 articles there isn't enough of a sample for me to make an informed decision here. Those 18 reviews, including the one that is at AfD now, don't give me any pause but again think it's just too soon. Build-up a bit more of a track record there over the next month or so and then come back here, or stop by my talk page, and if all still looks good we can do a trial run of NPP. For now (and only because the bot makes me) Not done. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 21:17, 18 October 2019 (UTC)

- I’m contributing here since 2015 and I have pending changes reviewer and rollbacker rights in English Wikipedia. I’m familiar with WP:GNG and WP:BLP. I contested many speedy deletion which were deleted. I’m active participant in the AfD debates too. I made more than 17 articles in which only 2 were deleted and those were related to event and act. I’m regularly accepting and rejecting pending changes according to Wikipedia policies. I want to help Wikipedia in dealing with backlogs in new articles. Last time, when I applied then I had 513 mainspace edits which were quite small as per administrator. I’ve more than 817 main space edits right now which shouldn’t be objection this time. - I want to become a New Page Reviewer because I have had experience working with many new pages, including using Twinkle and other tools to help revert unconstructive edits. Additionally, I have helped on many projects, including but not limited to GAN and Wikipedia page ranking/classifications. I am active at WP:AIV and have reported tens of vandals. Earlier in my tenure, I was not quite as responsible and made many rookie mistakes, but as such I do know what it feels like being bit as a newcomer, even after all this time. I meet every single requirement for Reviewer and I know the style of manual guide like the back of my hand. I am also a member of several teams, including the Typo Team, Countervandalism Unit, and the RC patrol. I am also an active member on Wikiproject Grammar.
