Tiny Pop is a free-to-air children's television channel in the United Kingdom, owned by CSC Media Group. It is owned by CSC Media Group. As of June 2014, it broadcasts cartoons and pop music videos on Sky and Freesat. Its target audience is children aged from 4 to 6.[1]
History
Its sister channel is Pop which was launched on 29 May 2003. Tiny Pop is a replacement for the retired station Pop Plus, which was originally a secondary channel of Pop. Tiny Pop is aimed at a younger audience (similar to CBeebies). Tiny Pop's second sister channel is called Pop Girl and it was launched on 6 August 2007. Its third sister channel, Kix was launched on 19 May 2008, and replaced Pop +1, the 1-Hour timeshift of Pop.
Tiny Pop broadcasts on Sky channel 617 and Freesat channel 605
Programmes are introduced through the channels to animated monkeys, known as the Cheeky Monkeys, who talk about cartoons, read out jokes from viewers and show artwork. from the end of June 2009, they were replaced with 3 new hosts, Molly, Leo and Pip.
On 11 October 2007, Tiny Pop was launched on Virgin Media, along with its sister channel Pop. Although Pop was removed in 2011, Tiny Pop still remains.
