The Małopolska Institute of Culture (Polish: Małopolski Instytut Kultury) is a cultural institution engaged in promoting and supporting cultural activities in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship and the historical Lesser Poland (Polish: Małopolska) region. The Institute is located in Kraków; it was founded in 2002. The main focus of Małopolska Institute of Culture's activity is integrating diverse small regional cultural institutions - museums, archives or local cultural centres[1]. The Institute organises events to promote the region and its culture both locally and abroad.
Małopolska Days of Cultural Heritage
The Institute runs numerous annual programs, such as the Małopolska Region Days in Brussels[2], or the Małopolska Days of Cultural Heritage, an event meant to promote the cultural diversity of Malopolska[3]. Each May, for two weekends the Institute organises special curated visits to ten regional sites of special interest where special educational activities take place. The selected sites are little known, or normally out of bounds to the public (due to private ownership or other considerations).
